Dana has it right: life is simple when you are bike packing: just ride. When you are thirsty you drink something, when you are tiered you rest, when you are hungry you eat. No schedules, no computers. Life becomes very simple and you just feel good! What is simplest is best I say. Saludos y abrazos. :-)

Nice to see the e-biker. I ride the Rad Rover for long tours of 100 miles round trip. There is no wrong bike to use unless of course it is not a good physical fit. We ride the bikes that are best for our needs. Getting out there, is what counts in order to find that inner peace. I look forward to the completion of the across America Rail Trail where we will ride free of automobile traffic. I donated to the cause. If not for me, for future generations who have the bicycle touring spirit. Touring the great wide open USA by bicycle is an adventure of a lifetime.

Agreed ebike is where it's at... I'm towards the end of my fifth decade... And I'm more flexible than when I was younger. It's the e-bike LOL as well as more accumulated knowledge about stretching. Check out the 6-minute video on my channel gives you a quick look at my bicycle drawn camper wagon with a Class 1 hitch on the back of my bafang electrified Kona ute... And see what Cabin Fever does to you? LOL nothing like a little tinkering to take you away while you're still at home

Oh yeah , the solar thing... I want to do a solar panel but I'm worried about the weight... And I'm wondering whether I really need it cuz so far I haven't with two batteries.... theoretically would be easy to toss one on top of my four wheeled wagon that I tow... I affectionately refer to as my bicycle cocoon
