It is a fundamental cultural difference. And id even argue its happened in the last 15 years or so. People just dont wanna work for it combined with very little "grit" or ability to persevere as you mentioned. Gaming doesnt really teach you to work for tangible results. Only dopamine released. In NA the grind stops when it encounters any structured player or org with a solid team that actually gets along and doesnt just chase quarterly gains with 0 empathy. The propped up mental, no clear ubderstanding of being professional, for granted approach, to just about anything, is the NA cookie that gets eaten over and over csuse its too yummy to let go, and it easily crumbles under any pressure applied.. idk sounded kinda smart right 😅

Rain floods is the actual correct terminology and quite common. There are many types of floods so it is important to specify in an emergency to accurately prepare. For example if the bath floods because you overfill it that is called a man made flood. A flash flood is a combination of a rain flood + lightning storm hence ‘flash’.

The state of the top of NA has degraded significantly over time, mostly because the people at the top locally are genuinely awful people that perpetuate being a shitty to person to further yourself at all times. A very wonderful sociological feedback loop as well as there being no real good human to human interactions unless you are extremely lucky to meet some more talkative or discussion oriented. In general, good communication is at an all-time low and the only thing that can truly push NA back to anything even resembling it's former relevance will have to be by having groups of people push better quality interactions between one another and set some kind of example. Not sure if it will ever happen but it's not like it is entirely hopeless

@YukiYuki1715 ай бұрын
Seems a bit of an unfair generalization don't you think? Have you actually looked at other scene's in games? The FGC for example NA is very competitive, in almost every game at evo for example there's an NA player winning or being at least in the top 8 usually. I mean look at melee for example, those players have dedicated most likely (almost certainly so due to the age of the game) more hours to that children's party game to master frame perfect inputs than anyone in CS, C9 mang0 for example who just won a major tourney in the game recently, has been playing at a top level since evo world 2007, even right now based off of the recent summer rankings he's ranked 3 in the world..in general there's only 3 non NA players (if you don't canada, there's 2 canadians otherwise, ultimate and other fighting games are more diverse and sees more top players from japan and so on but my point stands.) in the top 50 for those rankings...These are people who play for fucking pennies too, with placements below top 3 probably barely being enough to cover their travel expenses let alone be a profit (Mang0 only made $4,000 off of that win, it's pure passion.). Ego? Sure, but who doesn't have an ego? Do you believe there's no EU players who have an ego or feel privileged in any way? Leffen for example has a bigger ego than any FGC or smash player probably, and the dudes swedish. I think the statement is disingenuous to say.
@YukiYuki1715 ай бұрын
Not sure I agree with one of the final statements though, isn't one of the reasons NA has been suffering and losing a lot of talent to valorant due to not having any tourneys back home? At least part of the reason, I imagine it doesn't help or make the offer to play CS as an up incoming player appealing when you see you'd have to fight for a spot on one of the 3 orgs that would sign you in the first place (assuming they don't just get an EU import anyways lmao), and then be traveling overseas the majority of the time. Just saying having tourneys in NA would probably build up that interest too, the ecosystem just seems harsh that even as someone who dislikes Valorant (could never get into it at all or its gimmicks) if I were an NA player looking to make a career or name for myself, I'd go there. Unfortunately though I don't think there's much that can be done by any single entity (I think tourneys back on NA soil will help and bring in interest but it doesn't fix all of the issues obviously, like sponsors/teams etc, even then if all of that magically came there's still valorants chokehold on the region though I feel if somehow that was remedied we'd see a lot more talent and a healthier scene.) unless like, valve steps in and does some shit that encourages growth in the scene at this point, and the 2019 squad of liquid will likely reunite before that ever happens.

I was watching semphis' interview with mauisnake on his channel, and he said the opposite towards the end. He mentioned how him and other coaches/orgs reach out to help players, but they half-ass work, ignore deadlines, do not communicate properly etc. because they know they will go relatively unscathed. It's unfortunate because as you said, a few drama queens/lazy players can drive their whole team to shit. My guess is because many of the NA players can afford to live while earning a small paycheck since they have more opportunity and family support, so there is less incentive to give it their all vs. some kid in albania who has to choose between grinding to tier 1 or just matchfixing, no inbetween
@justjustinmtg5 ай бұрын
That's interesting but it also shows that people are basically living off of family and persuading CS with no real intention to win. Brazilian players and a lot of EU players make it bc they want to win and sometimes have to make a living. Maybe it's just a case of bad scouting? Good points though
