The NEW 24" iMac UNBOXING and SETUP - ORANGE

We had some issues getting this up onto KZbin, but 1 hr later, here we have the ORANGE iMac! I really wish the Orange aluminum on the back extended to the front and the stand. The chin is almost a pastel/nude colour. Other than that, we get the M1 treatment which is great! Which colour will you guys snag?

That's what I've been saying. The body colors are gorgeous and saturated, but the front and base get a more pastel version that kind of looks kind of childish, especially with the white bezels.

Thank you for your unboxing video. I'm a big fan of the colour orange and would say that the salmon colour is in the orange colour family. I'm kind of glad they chose that specific shade of orange for the front, because I think anything that leans to a true orange would be too distracting for me.

I have the orange as well. If you look on the page where you "buy" the orange has a two tone emblem. Still cool. I love orange too. Even painted my homebuilt airplane orange. Lambo tangerine to be specific!!

We just got a yellow one 😀 Haven’t opened it yet, cause it’s actually for my husband, and while he doesn’t get excited about this stuff like I do, and isn’t going to geek out over all the coool stuff (the cords are color matched?!?!?!!!!) he should still probably be there for it, lol. Feel like a kid on Christmas. This, unlike my iPhone 12 Pro Max, feels like “old school Apple” where everything down to the packaging…origami box, ‘hello’ on the cover paper, color matching cables, stickers, box…it’s the little things, Apple…it really is. We got the maxed out one also (minus the 16 gig ram…that pushed the budget too far…and he isn’t doing complex graphics or gaming…so, hopefully its not the worst thing in the world.) We skipped the trackpad (I hate them, personally, he didn’t care) and upgraded the keyboard for the numerical one because he’s a numbers guy and likes those. The white bezel is pretty to me…I always got the white iPads when I could, and the chin…really…the whole thing looks like a work of art, seriously…it’s stunning. The orange is great, and I like how they used different shades for each color for different parts of it. Haven’t seen the yellow in real life…we’ll see later today!! Thanks so much, Karl! Not a glossy finish to the frame on the front. Most reviewers seemed to make this mistake. The glass covers the entire front. Run a finger from top to bottom and you’ll feel one continuous smooth surface.

I think the aesthetics of the new iMacs are really poor. The colors are really insipid, especially on the front, and they look nothing like the colors do on their website or adverts. I went for yellow but it's more like gold - something that might look "amazing" on Donald Trump's desk put looks tacky, cheep, and gauche to anyone with a modicum of taste. The previously coloured iMac G3s looked fun and funky and the silver/grey/metal finish of every Imac since looked fine in a minimalist, sleek, but very serious way. The new colorways are are a horrible compromise between the two being neither bold and funky nor serious and sleek. Apple Design department I give you Nul Points.

Keep hearing people complain about the number of ports. The mouse, keyboard, trackpad, printer, and headphones are all bluetooth nowadays. How many people want to plug in a second monitor? If you have a NAS on your network, you are going over the combined network cable, and won't be plugging in hard drives all the time. The majority of users don't have devices with SD cards. We airdrop between our Apple devices, and our phones are our main cameras today. For the average user of this iMac, the number of ports is more than enough.

You forgot to mention that there is also an Ethernet connection in the power block, but only in the iMacs with four connection. The cheapest iMac does not come with an Ethernet connection.
