@@Northern_Farmer I only once got a brand new roundbaler, it was a ferraboli fixed chamber. Maybe in 2001 it was a very good baler for silage Timothy but it got old and a lot of bales on it and now i got a vicon combi baler/wrapper that was used when i bought it. In between i did have a claas for a year but never ever again!!

I have had alternators pack up with dust and chaff and actually catch fire. So, now I try to remember to blow out the alternators every now and then as they are air cooled with a fan. We also blast out the radiators and coolers with water, daily to avoid overheating. Love that netwrap.

Best thing to do for those baler monitors is to hard wire them straight to your battery. We have a 569 premium and that baler would throw all kinds of goofy codes before we wired it to the battery
@Northern_Farmer5 жыл бұрын
I heard that to... the 566 was giving us issues one time...but this time it was the alternator... the battery was dead when I shut down

Our 457 baler has the same monitor. We like the netwrap instead of string, I think it's easier on the throw out bearing. The bad part about net wrap over string is that it freezes to the ground and is hard to clean up in the spring. Thanks for taking us for a ride.
@Northern_Farmer5 жыл бұрын
I know... I have had netwrap here and they fell apart... but I dont plan on keeping the bales on the ground.. I mushroom stack

@bobcrone61515 жыл бұрын
Nice new gear! Congrats! But the breakdowns. Dang! If it’s not one thing it’s something else, huh. I got no dealings with round balers... Question: when u change density setting, what exactly is the mechanism inside the equipment to change it on the bale? More or less hydro pressure? Also I’ve seen people meander from side to side on the swaths? I seen Nick do that but figured it was on account of him drinking in the cab. But he says he don’t drink much, so 🤣 Anyway I guess that bar graph on the monitor tells u if she’s gettin lopsided? If so how does it know? Electronic eyes in there? Oh and that net wrapper don’t mess around, does it! Ha. Fast!
@Northern_Farmer5 жыл бұрын
Hydraulic Pressure... Lol There are sensors on the two end belts one each side... When the bale has more hay one one side of it... the belt on the side with less hay will become loose...the sensor will show that and you move over to that side to fill it up.

Look on the bright side you got you 50 bales and wear in period done quicker. That is one thing I don't like with our new Kubota when driving your hand or the steering wheel block the temp gauge that after my dad made a mega row which left me making 20 round 4ftx4ft bales in about 100 metres and it sucked a load of fine hay and seed heads up to plug the rad the first I knew was when the warning light and error code came on that I knew of a problem as I couldn't see the temp gauge. But at lease it was easy to fix by letting it cool down and cleaning the screens off and we end up with 184 bales off 10 acres which wasn't bad.

Not a chance :) The only reason we have extra bearings is because they will go out at some time and we try to be prepared for anything. We haven't had one go out in the field in years but if it should we are prepared.

Well, like I said! Made in China bearings at John Deere price.

We don't buy our parts from John Deere :) And all equipment will eventually tear up if you use it enough. That's just the nature of the beast. However I might add that we bought this baler from my Dad years ago and it still puts up a great bale !! It's hard to beat quality.

Northern farmer There is cheaper than JD net . If you look on the internet , with as much as you will use . There’s volume discounts out there to . The time difference in net and waiting on twine is the difference tho . #GOPREDS

@@Northern_Farmer Buy it out of season if you can and shop around. Some dealers will jack the price up just because they're jerks, others you'll be able to buy in bulk out of season at a discount, just store it out of the sun I've been told. We've not had good luck with other brand wrap than jd but also not tried them a lot.
