They also have a seat belt cutter.. the belt cutter could be impotant if you are upside down and cannot get the occupants weight off the belt to release it... Be aware though, I have tried to break windows on a new'ish range rover evoque which has double glass lminated and found it amazingly hard to gain access. The Tesla windows are now same style glass..... we would backup the glass punch with other tools to effect entry..

In Thailand, the twin cab ute/pickup is essentially the aspirational family vehicle and utes in general are used as minibuses as well. Thailand has a huge car manufacturing base, in fact most of the twin cab utes in Australia are made there now. The government is working hard to support local EV manufacturing as well.

Anybody that has central air conditioning is likely to have a heat pump. They use the same compressor but reverse the flow of refrigerant. In colder climates though heat pumps are not effective. They just cannot produce air that is warm enough not to feel draughty without supplemental electric resistance heating.

Hey guys, I used to sell hvac equipment for residential and commercial. Fun fact heat pumps have gone down in price so much that even for people that need only cooling we sell them a heat pump with heating locked out because it's now cheaper to buy a heat pump instead of a cooling only system.

In Southeast Asian, and especially in Thailand, pickup trucks are popular as a form of mass transit. The way this works is that a covered shell with a row of seats on each side is inserted into the pickup bed. The truck then drives around the city allowing people to hop on and off. Because one truck can comfortably accommodate 8 passengers at a time, people using this form of transportation typically pay only a very modest fee.

I have a heat pump and let me tell ya I have had a huge increase in energy cost compared to when I had a gas furnace. Also, the heat pump is not able to heat the house like the furnace could so we had to get stand alone heaters for certain rooms which only increases cost. My only saving grace is that I just got my solar installed with a Tesla wall so that should mitigate the higher energy needs of the heat pump. Hopefully, as more heat pumps are employed the tech will get better eventually making them better than gas furnaces.
@edwardcoulter93612 жыл бұрын
Surprised you would give up on gas for a heat pump. Gas furnaces are by far, the cheapest way of heating a house. The cost of electricity is much higher than gas per unit of heat almost everywhere in the world. Heat pumps can return maybe three units of heat per equivalent unit of electric energy but only in very mild climates. Once outside temperatures drop below freezing heat pumps are pretty much tapped out and you need supplementary electric heating, (at high cost.)

Center Punch (spring loaded is best to break the window). An average of 54 Floridians drown in their cars every year. Retention ponds and miles of roads with no lighting no guardrails next to canals deep enough for boat traffic. Don't forget the Everglades (swamp) is almost as big as New Jersey. Also at night with a possibly upside down car figuring out which way is up is more challenging than most people think. You might swim sideways instead of up.

I don't get the A/C heat pump story .. A/C units have been able to do that for a long time. My house which I bought in 2006 came with an A/C unit with a heat pump already in it. I used it to both cool and heat the house - did not have a different heating unit. It did come with a built in heat element should it get below 18 degrees and the heat pump could not keep up with heat demand. I'm I missing something?
@Kramer620Dark2 жыл бұрын
Many heat pumps are used for cooling only for data centers and other applications that only require cooling. Not sure if this is over legislation or helpful maybe we require in every house in hot climate to add heaters as well

Pick-up trucks are very popular in Thailand largely because they are assembled locally and not subject to high import duties. Thailand has the 10th largest automotive industry in the world, and could actually be a good China-diversification option for the region if Tesla is looking at additional countries to produced cars in. Last year there were a dozen Teslas going around Bangkok. This year we see MANY more. We also see a lot of all electric BYDs, Volvos, MGs, and Oras (all Chinese). Interestingly, there is no import duty for vehicles manufactured in China. I'm hoping to buy a few Teslas for my work's fleet as soon as they're available.

I've just ordered 3 Starlink kits (2 fixed and one RV version) for the Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Association, to service their operations on the Mitchell Plateau in remote far northern Western Australia. We'll order two more, but the website currently limits you to three. There's no service here yet (it's estimated to start in Q1 2022) but the website says that they're packing the RV kit immediately. It will be interesting to see how the connection speed and reliability evolves between now and Q1. One challenge we have is that on the Tesla website you have to enter an address for fixed kits, but only two of our locations have addresses that are recognised. I guess we'll be able to give them a latitude/longitude at some point. The satellite link at Munurru Campground (Google Munurru, Western Australia) has been giving us a download speed of 0.6mbps and upload of 0.1mbps (groan). I've just set up the point-of-sale system for the Wunambal Gaambera rangers, so they can sell merch and visitor passes to tourists. This will help them fund their ranger program, making it possible for them to return to their traditional lands and prosper there. Starlink will revolutionize this community's economic and social situation.

Most ice vehicles are scrapped long before 20000 miles , so need for a million mile battery not required . Speed of charging and battery density most important , next is cycle life increases as most have 2000+ cycle life already which means in 200 mile range vehicles that would be 400000 miles . Last longer than the seats
