So happy to have found your channel! This video was just what I needed this weekend! But I made a BIG mistake and ended up doing an impromptu water change as I forgot to take out the output hose from the tank and had water everywhere!!! I'm telling for hubby to bring me a pot or a bucket or something and he brought me a cereal bowl! Lol anyway, my fluval in&line clarifier is now properly installed and 8 looks forward to great results!

First time viewer & I subscribed as I found your video easy to watch and informative. I've been running the original Fluval UVC clarifier on a 307 and now a 107. It's been amazing and as you indicated, has made maintenance ssooo much easier. It's almost 2 yrs old now and have been wondering what I would do to replace it. You have me convinced. Thanks for a great, informative video. Tom from Minnesota/USA.

My $40 UV unit has made my water crystal clear and works great compared to what it was like before I installed it. Not that the water wasn't already clear and satisfactory. I just wanted to see if a cheap unit would actually work or not. I wasn't disappointed because my water is absolutely crystal clear now.

Although I probably won't use a UV sterilizer, I do love Fluval products. I always have some Bug Bites for my fish, and I've got a couple Fluval hang on the back filters that I think are great. I really wish Fluval did FX compatible external heaters. I've been forced to go with internal Fluval E series heaters on my new big tank because I'm running 2 FX2s. If they make an "FX2 thermo" filter (with the heater on a separate plug - I want to be able to run my Inkbird controller) or an in-line heater that's compatible with the FX tubing I'd have spent the extra money.

Matt - Thanks for the review of this product. I saw someone else on KZbin who lost fish after installing this on their aquarium. I noticed the old model fluval had a timer feature which seems to indicate you should only operate it for a certain amount of time each day. The unit you installed doesn’t have this feature. Now that it has been a few months since installing it, what have you noticed and are you satisfied with the water quality and overall fish health? Ready to pull the trigger but the one negative review video I watched has me concerned and I don’t want to injure my fish. Thanks in advance!

i buyed somekind of cube that looks like inside of a catalysator and that one cleans the water to crystal clear and i dont use UV/UVC at all, i also have been trying to get my tank natural as in real life, like how the fish live freely and my fish doing great so far. you dont need expensive equipment but some people want to do it different and that is all fine :)
@FishShopMatt Жыл бұрын
I know the cubes you talk of and have used them before with fairly decent success. Your last part is so true you can keep fish in whatever way you see fit as long as the fish are happy! You can spend thousands or pick something up for free as long as you enjoy it and help others succeed that's what counts!

Curious how this affects algae-eating fish and shrimp tanks, and what does it do to beneficial bacteria?
@Bjpyro Жыл бұрын
I have the 07 clarifier. From what I understand since the bacteria is not in the water column, it won’t cause issues. I turn mine off for 24 hours after I add any stability after water changes. So far so good.
@neilrr1000 Жыл бұрын
From research, a clarifier is low wattage as it can't achieve the levels of sterilisation that high wattage units need. Equally in turn that will by why the bulb can run for so long (its not working as hard so use's less heat and won't burn out quickly)
