In a BJJ sport aspect is the most practical thing to do , if you wanna just do stand up do judo and be happy, and about the self defense aspect, I've seen people doing well in the streets with plain old BJJ, besides even if you have perfect stand up and ground game, you can get killed with a knife or gun, soooo you know in the context of BJJ as a sport is just that a sport, don't be so picky it is what it is.

New guard? He did like 4 main tournaments, but not even one submission?? I don't understand how one could be a champion by 2-2 score, etc, but no submissions. I think IBJJF rules are ruining Jiu Jitsu. The Spyder fight at 28:00 was embarrassment to the sport! ADCC is more of Jiu Jitsu and much more fun to watch.
