I don't know why this series needs to be made. I guess HBO needs money. But for what it's worth, I'd guess the cast will be unknowns or semi-unknowns. Established, major actors turning up for a bit of filming every year is one thing- but a television series projected to last ten years is a huge commitment. This will be considered a star-making project, as Game of Thrones turned out to be, rather than celebrity casting like the Harry Potter films.

You don't let go of something like that, and JK Rowling would be a part of it. She was smart right from the beginning, making sure she was included with making the movies. It will be the same with everything about the franchise.
