Carly through this arc can help him see that he doesn't need to change into something that hes not but instead be the Freddie she grew up with and the valiant , golden hearted, and self sacrificing Freddie that saved her from that taco truck in the original series instead for not just her but his daughter rather than just preform.

The comment you said about how iCarly should have been about her daughter is not good because a lot of shows (you have reviewed) have adopted that formula with the remakes...Raven's Home and Girl Meets World for example. The reboot concept itself isn't that bad, but the show feels really stiff. Some of the changes I noticed the most, was the lack of ambient/score music during the scenes, that used to give a big emphasis to some parts of the dialogue, not to mention the transitions it used to have in the old version, I know editing styles are not the same nowadays, but that gave a lot of vibrance to the show, now it's just a normal guitar riff, like if it was Friends or something similar. There's just a lack of vibrance, I know sam's absence is notorious, but the show could be better even without her character. Also, the lighting in the show seems darker, but way darker, and less saturated compared to the first version, I don't know if this is a way to make the show feel more mature, but it also reduces it's vibrance.
@emilygriffith67023 жыл бұрын
I honestly kind of miss the original bright vivid wacky layout and set. I know it may not be as “mature” but like... spencer is a crazy artist. I always thought it made sense to be tacky, LOL
@tradeka42063 жыл бұрын
Another thing that really ruins it is the incredibly lazy exposition of everything that’s been going on in the character’s lives. The conversation between Freddie and spencer was terrible, humans don’t talk like that. Any backstory they want to give they just have the character say some line about it in the most simple and generic way possible, and it just sounds so awkward. It’s like a kids’ show but the ones for really little kids that hold your hand and explain every single thing. They could have thought of some better ways to tell the audience these things. It’s just lazy and bad writing. Another thing that you can’t get around is that the acting is just bad. Every line is awkward. Even Jerry Trainor who was amazing in the original show just seems off. It’s bad dialogue with bad delivery, there’s really nothing good I can say about it

@@benedicto2031 That's isn't even close to being true. I know PLENTY of people who's personality has changed as they got older. Hell, my personality now is VERY different from when I was 12. Because life experiences changes how you think, feel, and act about/towards the world and people. So the guy had a valid critique on their personality having stayed the same after 8 or so years. The only thing is, I would argue their personality has changed, some for the worst, it's just that the humor and its delivery has not changed, except when they include the occasional adult jokes. It's like if we took the cast of ICarly from 2008 and had then be the cast of a more adult comedy show like Seinfeld. It doesn't blend

The show isn't half-bad, but it's really not that great, either. I think it's incredibly weird how the characters haven't really changed in any meaningful ways. And the only attempt at it really is with Freddie being a step-dad. Which feels incredibly forced and Millicent REALLY doesn't mesh well with the cast. Harper fits incredibly well though, feels like a natural addition. While also not feeling like a Sam-replacement. I don't know if I see this getting multiple seasons but if it does-- I suspect we could see a very brief appearance of Sam towards the end.

Why is it called a reboot when it is clearly a sequel?
@peterfarrabuhk1233 жыл бұрын

Aren't all reboots sequels? I think you're confusing reboot and remake.
@the0thersyde7253 жыл бұрын
Okay. No. Doctor Who was a Continuation. Same show, same continuity, same characters. Show just came back from hiatus (could also be classified sequel technically) but definitely not a reboot as in just continues the story of classic who. REBOOT's take the ideas of the original and start from scratch and does completely new things with it. An actual iCarly reboot would involve beginning again with an entirely new cast including a new Carly telling completely new stories with essentially no connection to the original. What they did with Battlestar Galactica for example. REMAKES are similar to reboot's but don't generally happen in TV as much and are more a movie thing. But they're more making almost the exact same thing again but with slight changes. The Office US for instance started out as a remake of the UK version before evolving into its own thing. The first episodes are almost identical with the same jokes. All this is the say iCarly (2021) is not a reboot it's a continuation/sequel/revival of the original show.
@khevonchristopher86763 жыл бұрын
Reboots are shows redoing their continuity while sequels continue the current continuity. So an iCarly reboot would be the show being done on today's time with like influencers n KZbin algorithms but carly of the past never exist this is the first iCarly to exist in this universe.
