Probably the best video about the new Calculator app so far. Just wanted to see something like this. Saw everything I was interested in, including my speculations, like whether you can delete everything on the calculator screen if you hold down the backspace key. No one talked about it or showed it. And didn't even answer my question in the comments about it.

Absolute garbage for people doing complex math imo. I’m trying to use it to study more efficiently for an upcoming math test but it can’t even do simple equations like 3x+5=11 don’t even get me started on systems of equations. As of now I’m just using my ti 84 along with using notes

assuming you meant 30 degrees, you need to add the degree symbol to get the right tangent value. Otherwise the assumption is radians.

i'm so happy someone finally mentioned the scientific calculator in landscape on ios 17. I didn't have a use for it, but everyone talking about the new ios 18 calculator updates was like "We finally have a scientific calculator built in to the default calculator app" and I was just sitting here going how does nobody know this? I found out about it by mistake when using my phone at a weird angle while reading something and I was sure others had to have done something similar

Math Notes is _not_ Calculator, it’s _Notes_ (hence the name). Nothing Brandon demoed here needs that Calculator at all. It can just be done directly in Notes because it’s a Notes feature. You’d be better off just opening Calculator and Notes side by side; then you could use both at the same time.

Don’t assume that just because it’s British it must be the original. In many cases distinct Americanisms actually preserve older forms than modern British English does. Did you know spellings such as "color" and "honor" were common in England before modern British adopted "-our"? Ditto "-ize" vs. "-ise". The American pronunciation of words like "bath" and "cat" were also common until southern British English switched to "bahth" and "caht". The American short-a pronunciation can still be found in northern England, the Midlands, the West Country - pretty much any place that’s not southern England. Ditto for the rhotic r heard in American pronunciations of words such as "hard" or "car". Rhotic r was standard in British English until the 18th century and is still common in Ireland, Scotland, and pretty much anywhere that’s not southern England. And then there are past tense words like "gotten" and "dove" and "sank", which Brits have recently abandoned but Americans continue to use. Did you know even the quintessential American name "soccer" ("asSOCiation footballER") was invented then abandoned by Brits and is only preserved today by the Americans?
