Very good top 23 the only thing is I think Jacob Blight will enter that top 23 but understand have not seen enough of him yet ? Did the job on McKay last time and has been big in pre-season even winning the time trial. Has what’s needed and I wouldn’t risk Gibcus in the early rounds as we need a full season from Gibcus. Balta hurts not being there. A Carlton dream come true no Balta to worry about round 1. Also don’t have to deal with Lefau in round 1 as well. So maybe Blight , Kos , Broad , Brown down back as Talls then Talls in Lynch , Bauer , Fawcett up forward with the option of when ready an Armstrong or Faull next in line to those 3 forwards. Still think we need to not over achieve one more draft. But they will be out to win every game. Get the feeling we can not lose either way ? Always like winning games but also need another draft hand to arms up before the Tassie team comes in ? Good luck to the Teams that fall out and bottom out when the Tassie Team owns the draft?

Algar a smoky to debut early, I reckon Blight will get a go for Balta as he's been destroying pre season so far. I'd probably shift Banks to the wing too as our midfield is horribly slow. Maybe bump Green to sub or whoever is pressing based on form.

Yeah Blight will be an AFL success the way he’s going at the moment I just think there’s no way he gets left out of the side. I’m a huge fan of Blight the way he’s giving all he’s got.

Cmon guys you have not done your homework. Usually love this channel but if you read any reports you would know that Gibcus is still in recovery and won’t start round 1 as they are publicly opting to take the 12 month recommended recovery duration. Same with Lefau.

Our Best 23 is based on the full season and not just Round 1 availability, hence the Gibcus and Balta selections. Can consider Blight and Miller for Gibcus and Balta to start the year perhaps!

Round 1 will be a different line-up in defense. Gibcus has been flagged by the club as behind in his ACL recovery so likely not playing for the first few rounds. Also Tylar Young is recovering from his ACL so wont be available till closer to mid year. So it probably means it is out of Blight, Miller and Kosi. Also, Lefau is unavailable for the first half of the season because of his ACL. So it means we'll get to see one of the other fella's, maybe Liam Fawcett or Campbell Gray.

Lot of comments below not getting it. This is the best 23 not a round 1 team. Obviously Balta and Gibcus won't play 1st month. Blight and maybe Trezise will come in.

Balta on suspension for 4 weeks rounds 1 to 4 so will it be Miller or Young ? I choose Young though both are ordinary players at least Young can take a pack mark !

Young is still recovering from ACL. Not likely to see him in first half of the year

Miller statistically was the best back last year. Of your midfield predictions Taranto, Hopper and Prestia are all slow. Taranto as been the stand out recently. Hopper has been performing below expectations and Prestia appears near the end of his career. One suspects that those chosen towards the end of the season might not include Hopper or Prestia
