Beautiful. Thank you for the attention to these switches. On my radar. Excellent video have a great weekend 💯

The stem / box is huge haha! These are cool and unique, I wonder if they plan on releasing individual pieces to the public or if their marketing is just saying that "we can make the switch any way imaginable and plan to"

Yeah it is :D yeah I have been wondering the same as well. Would be cool if they released them to consumers.

How exactly does the reduced total switch travel distance interact with the magnet position sensor? Like, is where the travel ends simply half a millimeter higher, so the sensor would see it at 3.5 / 4.0mm travel distance, or is there anything more to it? Since depending on where exactly the magnet is located, it may make the kb see weird things.
@jerrorr3 ай бұрын
Wooting calibrates itself everytime you plug it in so it won't start seeing weird things with a shorter travel distance and different magnetic flux having switches. But there is a slight change in the sensitivity curve the switch operates in. If sensitivity range is 0-100 and it is stretched from 0-4mm, you then just have that same range but it is stretched between 0-3.5mm.

@@jerrorr So while the settings in the software are in 0.1 to 4.0 millimeters, they actually correspond to 0-100 of available travel, correct? So f.e. setting the actuation point to 0.1mm and 0.15mm for rapid trigger in the software, afaik the lowest you can set, would with these switches actually mean 0.0875 and 0.13125mm? Also not sure if when you say it can measure 100/101 steps within 4mm, that it may be mechanically incapable of detecting smaller than 0.04mm distance changes.

Does the 3.5mm travel distance affect in any way the rappid trigger like when bottoming out at 4.0mm?

Wouldn't making an HE switch dust-proof be kind of pointless since the switch mechanism is contactless? There are no contact points for dust to get in the way of.

It can always get in the rails to make them less smooth but you are correct, no benefit other than that. Most likely the real benefit is reduced stem wobble.

Not necessarily, just another great option with a bit more unique typing feel due to the longer spring!
