Its great that Mazda wants to make their own hybrid. But I think because people are more conscious about reliability, they will prefer the tried and true than be a tester for a new system. Also crazy that Mazda thinks people won't use this as an "adventure" model. Even Toyota has their hybrid "woodland edition"
@TheNovakReport12 күн бұрын
Agreed. I think there will be a Meridian hybrid at some point in the CX-50.

Whoever Mazda has in their design department in recent years, those people know what they’re doing. Mazda is putting out some of the cleanest designs of any manufacturer in recent years as far as I’m concerned.
@TheNovakReport12 күн бұрын
One of the advantages, I suppose of being a smaller company is that your design team works on a styling concept and then sticks with it because you're not large enough to keep changing things up with every model. Their Kudo design language is clean and ages very well.

Fair point, but the more aggressive styling and side cladding of the CX-50 don't have as broad an appeal as the CX-5. Mazda targets each model differently.

Mazda and Toyota have partnership agreements. They have a joint production facility in Alabama where the CX-50 and the Corolla Cross are made. It's becoming more common to see automakers partner with each other just like Toyota and Subaru have also done. Mazda will have their own designed hybrid system put into the next gen CX-5 coming out next year.
