Coming out on ios first without being cheaper or having more features than Procreate is a weird choice. I'd also think more MB users are on Android thanks to the limited options.
@Cat-n6n2x10 ай бұрын
as far as i know (which isnt much) most apps that come to both ios and android usually develop for ios first because its a closed environment and theres less variation, theres a limited amount of iphones and ipads and its easier to find people on all of those to test the app, while on android there is many differences on devices from different models and brands, the hardware can be very different from model to model, and there is also mnay versions of android os on different brands (like samsung, xiaomi and such). ios has a more controlled environment to develop for and add to, while fixing little quirks and bugs that might be around

I have one thing to note about Procreate vs Medibang and that's in the brushes. I'd love to know more about the brush engine bc I know that Procreaate brushes, while impressive in what they can do, don't work the same as other brushes like those in PS, Medibang, sometimes CSP (though CSP is known to have a complex brush engine). Depending on your workflow, Medibang Pro might be great for someone who uses multiple apps in their workflow.
@somethingelse9288 ай бұрын
Yeah! That's what i found so difficult drawing using procreate, the brushes are super....wonky?! IDK I tried more than once and it's annoying to me because i use PS to draw and I didn't want a subscription for CSP, I'm so sad for paying that app thinking that it's similar to PS and seeing everyone loving & using it .
@PharanBrush10 ай бұрын
You'd want this over Procreate because a lot of its brush behavior/default brushes and settings are better-suited for clean comic/anime/manga style than Procreate. I've seen a number of people who draw with a clean style, refuse to switch to another app because Medibang's tools just have a better feel for them. I think if you could never get your anime-ish or cute art to look right in Procreate, Medibang is worth trying to see if it's actually a better app for you. It would definitely be a huge deal if it were on Android. I think PC users can tolerate the original version more than tablet users would.

Me too. I think people who need a Procreate clone most are Android & Windows user. Like, everyone who has an iPad for drawing already has Procreate, many even bought an iPad just for Procreate; don't know why they'd want to spend more on another app. And with Procreate being a one-time purchase at a very reasonable price, there's no price to beat unless it's free (which Medibang Pro isn't) Maybe the team is more familiar with iOS so they do it first to pin the code down, then later port it to other platforms.
