@@TheRealGigaCat For me it's a need. I live miles from county maintained roads in the rockies. No ev can get here at the ridiculous weights thay are coming in at. Nothing short of a light weight Tacoma with lockers and oversized snow tires can get here in the winter. Low psi footprint is a requirement unless you are on tracks like this gwagon and all other ev should be.

Crazy what EV's can do vs ICE vehicles and the individual motors on each wheels is a game changer. The G spin was pretty cool and I think it'll actually be useful in a tight situation where doing the Austin Powers turn around isn't ideal.

The area there belongs basically Magna Steyr the successor of the Puchwerke who has created the first G together with Mercedes. Only engines and gear box came from Mercedes. The other technique from Puch. In Austria and former Yugoslavia it was sold as Puch G. Magna Steyr produces for Mercedes all the G classes. Many greetings from Austria!

@@ScaniaMF no! It’s not. The M710 has been produced and constructed before and was a competitor of the Unimog. The Puch/Mercedes G was one class lighter and smaller and better suited for on-road. It should be a „jeeplike“ car, but with much more off-road capabilities than the Land Rover, Jeep, Landcruiser etc. I personally feel about the development after 2000 very sorry. The G-class became a car for rich posers who will never use the off-road capability of this car.

Very cool! As a Jeep Wrangler 4xe owner, I'm also a fan of the G wagon, but they are out of my price range. Glad to see that they are developing an electric version. I would like to see them eventually do a plug in hybrid version of the G Class, as I would consider buying one (A used one in the further future as new would be too expensive for my budget)
