good on pointing out how the devs have enabled a pretty natural prog for the majority of players, down in the pug guilds it really feels like that and it's really really fun and getting usually pretty disconnected guildies to start working together

We got a Binding week 1 off Garr. Funny story. This is the only binding I have ever had. It dropped twice for my OG Rogue. Once for my DH, now once in SoD on first lockout. Curse, or Blessing? Will I once again be force to stare at the Right half for all of SoD?

I've said this on another channel. The molten core fight. What I believe would have been extremely cool would be if once you downed the boss. An event started, which was escape the core. And the instance starts falling apart and the raid has to escape and fight certain trash. Some trash you see get annihilated by falling debris etc. In a similar fashion to the escape from ganons castle in ocarina of time. And you basically have a timed rush to escape. And the exit ports you to the bridge in BRD where you get attunement fragment. If blizzard started doing stuff like that where it's really RP etc ah man it would be cool.

I totally get your intro point Bob! However I do like the change! I would have preferred if heat 1 was original MC though for pugs and not the updated SOM version. It may not be a popular opinion as it would make MC lvl 1 super easy however I feel the pugging scene in SOD has been awful due to mechanics casuals seem to struggle with.

we had to go up to 26 in our pug ony run though we didnt have the best group there i think lol it does seem a bit more difficult but i also see this one getting killed easier and faster later in the phase

I don't think it eliminates greedy behavior in casual guilds. We just get forced as officers to buy and craft the FR kits for slackers.

For context, I'm a retail raider that usually gets CE every tier. I play sod for fun to chill before progging retail during the wow seasons. I am currently doing mc with my sod homies, and we want to push into higher heat levels but people are still working on fire resist sets. I'm not a fan of fire resist at all. I think the mechanic itself doesn't let you use the most powerful gear you have because you need FR items. I just finished the 0.5 questline and I can't use half of it when I have my FR gear on because it just won't work. Mechanics that force me to change my gear set completely is not what makes raiding fun - harder mechanics do. I wish the heat levels just added mechanics compared to mandating hard FR caps.

Big true, problem is classic was “prep not skill” if you farmed and put in the hours, you can be a keyboard turning clicker and complete content

A couple of things you guys where talking about have a little lack of knowledge. You can get ez hydrax and thorium rep from sering gorge daily quests. Also, you can't even make TF till BWL because of the mats required. There are a few other things. But overall, it's a great podcast.

i dont like the idea that you're griefing your raid because theoretically you could switch your build around and do more damage, like yeah but that takes time and investment, i could also reroll to a different class that does marginally more damage too and that costs the same thing just usually a bit more time and investment but no one really says that because that's usually a line too far. i think it's just rude in general to tell someone to stop playing their specific class fantasy, every class and spec is basically playable in raid, telling someone to go and do errands for you because you want them to do some% more damage (according to bad discord sims) is deranged. one of the classes i play is a full spellpower shockadin, if someone tells me that because my name is pink and i'm DPS actually i need to be building attack power and either a fast or slow weapon depending on the day of the week and be doing physical dps i'm going to tell them to uninstall irl, that'd be like telling an ele shaman to reroll enhance. if you picked a class/spec you did it for a reason, right, it's cause you liked something about that playstyle about that kit. if details/WCL can change how a player feels about how they want to play their class strongly enough to where they swap how they're playing i dont think they're having very much fun playing wow personally

sanmedina's take on FR is a bit whack, one of the bosses can take those buffs off people, just have people geared properly instead of worrying about making a useless metric look good

The argument that is still classic is just a copout at this point. Sod is so far away from classic on such much that is classic and friction is a tired shit excuse at this point
