I'm a rotation player so I put household of 8 elders into a "elder care home" I built, used the roommate feature to fill out the rest of the empty bedrooms and aged up the roomates I didn't want to look like care takers and hired a maid, a butler and garden services to take care of them, I had a mod which let me change the uniforms of service workers to fit with the other 'service workers' (i cant remember where I got it and I can't find it anymore) and poof, it was pretty functional with enough imagination if you pretend the bills are for the combined rental home and I'm telling you it was scandalous. I had em throw raves, master skills, fall in love, Don was elderly and still trying to get with the ladies, it was one of the most fun households I played with

Like I am a married adult, have a toddler and am pregnant with my 2nd child-- def on purpose. Yet in shows? If it gets past kissing my brain can't. There is a way to have a funeral kinda! When the Sim dies, put their gravestone in your sim's personal inventory, then you can place down a podium. If the active sim with the gravestone in their inventory is in a sad mood they can give a touching eulogy by clicking on the gravestone in their possession. Edit- Only one sim can give a eulogy, passing the urn from sim to sim does not count unless you want to place down individual podiums for some reason.

I'd love an elder pack with retirement homes/villages and the like! I really hope they do this someday. I don't know how they'd ever sell it, but I love the idea of having funerals, wills, maybe some choice in disposition of remains (more than just outside for a tombstone, inside for an urn), official graveyard lot types, etc. Death and grieving are such a huge part of life, and I think the Sims can be a really nice way to process difficult emotions through storytelling.

I definitely agree that grief isn't linear. There's a theory that describes it as more of a spiral, with different emotions, and you cycle through them all but over time the emotions get less intense. The funeral home section is actually really beautiful. As someone whose religion’s funerals are basically the complete opposite of the ‘typical’ funeral home experience, personally I find it weirdly healing in a way to imagine a calmer, proper funeral for someone I’ve lost. There are some things about my religion’s grieving process which are good, but some that I really disagree with, and the way funerals are handled is one of them. This for some reason made me emotional to watch but thank you 😂

i lost my grandma earlier this year. it's weird knowing i won't see her again, and i regret not seeing her more. i learned so much i never knew at her funeral from the eulogies her loved ones gave. it's hard to grieve and to process death. i think it ebbs and flows, never fully passing but sometimes loosening its grip. maybe one day it's something you accept, but losing someone you loved, that you still love, is a monumental feat, and it is okay if you grieve that loss for months to years to decades. for as long as you need to. one day you will feel whole again but if you don't right now there is no shame to be had. they would not want you to feel bad for loving them. ❤

My only note is that senior living communities would never have platforms/level changes in them. Ramps yes, random step up, no. Too many people using walkers... It's all smooth floors and elevators, with stairs for the spry ones. My Mom lives in one, so I'm there all the time. Beautiful build though, really handsome structure. And I agree with you on Game Of Thrones. No need for all of the on-screen Woohoo. Ugh.

I built a retirement villa that I use in my legacy game and it’s “run” by a vampire I made and maxed out. The story is that Winter (the vampire) and the first matriarch were absolutely best friends and winter promised to look after the family for generations to come.

Jesse, I'm in a similar boat with grief right now. I broke up with my fiance and he passed the same night, October of last year. There's been a lot of chaos and issues surrounding it. We've had a lot of loss in the last couple years and I'm just now getting to process it all. Thank you for being so honest with us about your mental health regarding your loss. You've been an inspiration

I love your builds and your personality. I look forward to seeing your videos. Meltdowns are normal. I think we all have that loss in life that changes us, mine was in 2021. Grief is a journey not a destination and you dont ever heal from it you just live a but differently as time goes on. ❤

I love your attitude and just everything 😂 the fact you were vulnerable with telling us something like that, you’d think I’d be more heartbroken 😢 but the way you said it made me laugh so hard 😂

I'm so sorry for your loss. One of my best friends died unexpectedly in 2017, and I'm still not over it. It's just hard.

I love this build and definitely want to play with it! ❤ Thank you, especially, for being vulnerable with us. My grandma passed 3 weeks ago and it's comforting to know I'm not alone in grief or in how I react to things.

As someone who lives in a care home (not an elderly one) you actually nailed it with cramming as many bedrooms in the building as possible 😂 More bedrooms means more residents means more money 😂 I actually built my care home on sims 4 and I was studying the whole house and that how I realised how squashed into the house all the bedrooms were.

So off topic but as someone who watched the last seasons of GoT live with my dad i would sigh the biggest sigh of relief when the warnings didn’t include very strong sexual content or whatever the wording was

Hey hen! So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. The timing of this build is so serendipitous for me because I just lost my grandma. Funny how things go like that!

I relate to you so much about the death of your friend. I lost my best friend a few years ago and sometimes I feel like I'm insane. I'll be fine. Going about my day. And then the stupidest thing will set me off. Seeing his mug. Hearing his favourite song. And I'm in pieces again. I don't think it will ever end.

My Mother passed away early in life, I was suggested to create her and I in the game and create our ideal life. Getting to do all the things we never did together. But I think it'd be more traumatic then healing. So I related to what you said about doing the funeral home, being traumatic. Sorry for your loss ❤

I related so heavily to you suddenly realizing something was triggering to your grief that you weren’t expecting to be. I lost my granny who helped raise me in July of last year, and random little things set me off here and there that I’m not expecting to impact me

I feel so seen when you were talking about woohoo scenes in GoT. I completely agree and have always said it. One thing about me, I really do not enjoying woohoo scenes in shows

Weighing in on the GoT woo-hoo situation: it actually gets less as the seasons progress. It never completely goes away, but the scenes definitely become fewer and (mostly) less raunchy.
