This is a story about a kindergarten kid and his Primeape Observation Diary (Which could be his school homework as well) embarking on a journey to see Primeape's "non angry" face, and became Champion along the way. Yes, the kid challenged the Pokemon League just to probably finish his homework.

Honestly Horizons is proving Ash held the anime back. Keeping him around after Kalos was stupid plus he was dumbed brown from Kalos to Alola. He did mature a bit in Journeys but it was nowhere near his maturity in XYZ.

TRUE. Keeping Ash as the protagonist for so long did hurt the quality of the anime. He should have been retired during DP at the latest. Seeing how cool horizons is, it makes me really sad knowing that the anime could have been this cool the entire time. But instead we had seasons full of pointless team rocket filler.

(Highlight+SpeakFunction recommended for time & understanding I guess cause… bloody 2020s…) Alright mate I gotta sub cause I COMPLETELY forgot this show existed after watching Maybe the First episode or two however long ago & thinking “well this is different… hope they lean into the new artstyle directions in interesting ways… sucks there’s only 1 or 2 episodes on this pirating site that got deleted later!”…… followed by Completely forgetting it… & as you were describing I might still be blending memory of the show about the little Pokémon resort place where… was it kids or the actual Pokémon working there? I guess it’s a bit unusual when you have episodes where Pokémon communicate outside of telepathy, …Or Meowth having given up all but one move slot (which I wonder what the theories are now on which 3 moves he learnt in imitation of human speech to such advanced levels & without running out of PP whilst speaking… but he never tired himself out much from talking unless it was an old filler episode Maybe… can’t recall really; …it’s Been A While, you know? : D) But props for giving me a new show to watch man! I just caught up to Horizons after spending a few weeks longer trying to forget I watch the show Because I do that with Many anime that are more comfortable to watch in a row… (I guess I blame more than half decade of weekly One Piece Readership, maybe? : D it’s ROUGH when you care more about the reveals in story & how many unforeseen multilingual Japanese wordplays that were never adequately translated, or Just completely Incomprehensible without Native Speech & personal experience of local culture stuff & phrases, etc. Which then a multilingual wordplay MIGHT subtly hint the potential that a word’s use is meaning something specific in multiple languages because of a Japanese wordplay with various additional wordplays tied in which Then there’s Hidden hints there & deeper ones in carefully approached & deciphered Gōrôūwāsé/etc. & then it’s Basically mid1930s to mid1970s style military intel level SpyNovel Wordplay tricks that sometimes upset fans that expect to comprehend everything as exactly what it initially appears if Only analysed by mediocre to weak A.I. interpretations… But the heavier I try to understand adult messaging on levels akin to multilingual spycraft communications & complex thematic coding or hidden messages in symbolism of stuff only comprehensible when considering alternate interpretations of statements you’d Need to be native Japanese & Fluent in OLD SCHOOL Spooks’ Code-Deciphering around stuff that Just sounds like casual dialogue with stuff that only feels or sounds unnatural or different enough to be considering as Likely meaning more than the more obvious interpretations of basic Japanese or casual English wordplays… (do love when there are multiple weird hints that still don’t spoil the more important & weightier hidden messages & potential characterisation we can speculatively interpret 2 to 20 different ways… But Not Everything is One Piece or other series that spend 30 years trying to hide deeper stuff for”Grand Eventual Lûlz!” as I remember hearing someone call it… Though that could’ve been my subconscious stirring up internal thoughts & unusual interpretations of dialogue that I probably learn is a Terrible translation years after it’s no longer relevant… But man I’m looking forward to watching this show, & HOPING I actually Never saw ANY of it… because then I may be more impressed… I just hope it’s not like new Star Wars shows where you expect 30 minutes to 120 minutes but instead get 7.5 minutes for a Half of a 30 minute slot where the rest of the timing is All commercials around a 9 minute long “15 minutes per episode series” which ALWAYS Disappoint outside of what amazing details & characteristics of the production COULD make a series a New Hit Proper series…& they’re less like to phook it up like Disney does with shorter Star Wars stuff… But everything is being turned “ShortForm” to continue with the operation to Force Reductive & Less Clear or Properly-Expressive language because the Twitter has changed their Brain Functions entirely from Trying to Casuslly communicate in a place where all things said Require limiting one’s thinking capacity & ability to articulate/express thoughts in general… I call it “‘ShortSpeak’ Culture” likely developed by Globalist folks for promoting/encouraging efforts to force people to shorten their speech… So that Nearly Every argument I find on Twitter where people MIGHT actually have a reasonable position which emotional reactions & the inability to Fully explain one’s thoughts/ideas/etc. for other humans when one is limited to 240 characters of speech, so that NOW I get messages (likely from Bots… …of course…) where I’m Meant to believe a Real Human took the time and effort to express how they’re Incapable of processing my words because I wrote SLIGHTLY more than is allowed on Twitter & maybe 2 or 3 words or phrase Might require actual Active Thinking in order to properly comprehend… Or I actually Explain things & get the Full “bruh TLDR How’s ANYONE spossd to Understand made up words u use!?” (Because I might’ve used a 3rd grade level “vocabulary word” & they spent more time memorising imaginary identities of humans encouraged to be okay with Rejecting their Existence as is, whilst poisoned with stuff in food & water that mess with living beings’ hormones, DNA, behaviour, Critical thinking skills, etc. & they Don’t Care about anything beyond their comprehension cause it Could take time & maybe even older schooling to even Begin to Understand… So I despise the ShortSpeak they programme us with to Reduce our ability to Effectively Communicate with other thinking humans…

Horizons has barely made a scratch in Ash’s legacy. If you compare the two it’s not even made an impact. Ash made anime popular and recognised around the world before it was known outside of Japan. The majority of people who like anime don’t even know what Horizons is. Horizons is so sh*t that it’s laughable.

Ash has had his entire journey span over 20+ years, of course Horizons 'has barely made a scratch', because we have only had almost 2 years of it. Maybe you can complain about weaker protagonists, a story which you might not understand as much as "I wanna be a Pokémon Master", or you are just blinded by nostalgia, but for crying out loud, at least give Horizons a chance instead of shooting it's running leg on the first lap!

@@supremeseregios6810 Ash not only made Pokemon popular in his first year around the world, but he also made anime popular around the world before it was even a concept in countries outside of Japan. So, yeah I think saying Horizons has barely done anything even during a time when anime is super popular and using the success of Ash’s legacy hasn’t even helped it either. I did give Horizons a chance as well, but it didn’t live up to my low expectations. Like I didn’t care about the Pokemon anime at all, and even nostalgia aside it’s not good. The characters are all boring or complete their goals so easily (mainly because their goals are easy) even the fight against Rayquaza was a waste of time because it took them two episodes to beat it. The story is like basically even other modern anime plot and barely focuses on the Pokemon and when it does they rush it. I could go on for ages about why it’s bad. But I don’t need too, since it barley made a scratch even with the help of the current popularity of anime when you compare it too Ash who made anime popular in a year.

The character design for one looks like it's come out of a how to draw anime book, it's has the same plot structure as Journeys but at least I actuallycared about the characters, the plot is moving at a snails pace and it isn't an interesting plot to begin with.
