I have bought them all. From single end gates moving to the Boss, the TC Electronic the ISP etc. My board is wired as 3 separate boards. Each board is in effect used like an amp channel. The best is definitely the REVV8 for my very high gain. I do like the Ltd. Ed. defunct SM Cock Blocker for Crunch and I use a second for low gain/clean. My system works very well. All gates color the sound including the REVV8. but neither the SMG or REVV loose any girth which all others do. The coloration of both are different but are not obtrusive.

I wish the cock blocker was still being produced. Glenn nails everything he does, and he has a signature preamp pedal with revv at this point, so they could definitely produce them on a larger scale.

I recently got a new MT-15 with the 5881 tubes and I’m pretty disappointed with the noise in the loop, but hell it’s nowhere as noisy as your one?! Great amp tho, besides the noise.
@louistorres10 ай бұрын
Stop it!! You're getting noise in yours?! I was told the noise was fixed with this newer design! Get a 5751 tube and put it in V3 to lower the noise.
@kennethc24667 ай бұрын
My 5881 MT-15 is silent in the loop. Try keeping your loop cables away from the transformer, like all amps. Changing tubes does NOTHING, and gates destroy your tone. The noise is not from the preamp, it's from cable interference with two very large transformers being too close together, and to close to the loop jacks. Run the cables out and away, then pull them close to the output tranny. You'll see right away.

Hey Louis, what pedal would you prefer, the Revv g8 or the Fortin Zuul plus ?

REVV G8, bro! For real! Use the four cable method and done! :)
@yousocrazy11992 жыл бұрын
zuul noise gate is good too?
@JoshuaPatrickGarrett3 жыл бұрын
But what about those little details, like the initial break of the silence with a single note, even with the decay at the max? The NS-2 muddles at that precise point, and of course cuts some sustain. That's the main concern in my book.
@louistorres3 жыл бұрын
There are lots of great noise gates these days, so the days of NS2 gates are behind us.
@musicinsession Жыл бұрын
Did you try using the 4 cable method on the M15? I tried it and it broke the amp! After I tried that, the lead channel sounds like an air fryer!
