The new rifle part 5 - the scope. Today we'll get the scope mounted while we await the arrival of the full length arca rail. The scope is the Vortex Venom 5-25x56 with the EBR-7C reticle.

That is where my LaRue QD scope mounts really shine. They hold zero when taken off and returned to the correct rail slots.

And of course the very nice PFI Rapid Reticle 1x6 on the bca 7.62x39 upper which zeroed in 5 shots at 50yds, low right to a little high center. Courtesy of You and Pride Fowler Industries !

Had my viper on dd5v3 and took it off to use on ol fn. I wish they were more vids on the fn special police cause brother let me tell you it’s a laser. 3x15 same ebr-7 sfp in lowest rings possible and all bedded in a Macmillan from factory. Badger base bedded also. Harris bipod and ol sling I had 30yrs. Prob 18lb or so feels like solid granite and will drive 168s,125s, and 110s through .3”-.5” groups. Viper took a 4’ fall on my dd5 upper through banisters to yard and barley knocked it off..sold me so I got the 4.5x22 razor lht on my waypoint ffp too. Cought it and match rings with like $250 off.

I've never seen an FN Police Special...one day maybe I will. Sounds like a pretty neat rifle. One of the guys that used to work for me was big into FNs and FN FALs...I wonder if he had one and I just never paid attention??? Hmmm.

I had cooked and ate alot and was down for the count early until 530 ish this am , rinse , repeat. Though i did get a magpul ms1 sling and nice 45° offset flip up sights for the 7.62 x39 under the tree today ! Now for range time...

You should hang around me when I buy guns to add to my 60+ year collection because I wouldn’t have a vortex on ANY of my guns and I give them free to my gunsmith as gifts because otherwise I just throw these big pieces of JUNK in the garbage🙌

How much cant (moa) does your rail have ? 40 is what I find best for my rigs being able to use just about all the scopes usable travel out to distance .

The integral rail has 20 MOA built in. All of my long range scope bases for "regular" rifles are also 20 MOA bases and that has served me well. I have not yet run out of elevation adjustment out to 1500 yards.

My Viper PST Gen 2 and this one have a nice Christmas tree while my Viper PST Gen 1 doesn't. All of my Virtex glass is very clear too. Great glass for the money.

I am not a snob just have to have something that I can totally rely on and that means Leupold from my 60+ years of rifle collecting as well as hunting and reloading and they are the best scope on the market period🙌

I put my scopes as close to the barrel as possible without touching the barrel. I tell Who tee Who that it’s easier to line up that way but he don’t listen part of the time. Oh well it is what it is

Due to the way this action lays in the chassis, the medium height rings are almost too low. Getting the scope any lower I don't think I would be able to get a clear view through the scope.

That scope is packaged like a cheap $100 Simmons scope, and the sunshade is no good???!!! Terrible first impression. I hope the quality of glass and turrets lives up to the price.

The sunshade may have been damaged in shipping, who knows? What I do know is Vortex is sending me a replacement, no questions asked. They were happy to do so, and my having measured the inner diameter was only icing on the cake. They have a great warranty and customer service too. I have a number of Vortex optics and they all work great, no complaints. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it.
