You are a great reviewer. However, what sets you apart of everybody else is the photos of your family. Your wife and son are both beautiful, so they both provide pragmatic examples of what a lens would look like when photographing people. Other reviewers take pics of walls, funko toys, landscapes, etc. I take pictures of my wife and kid, and I need to know what lens takes the best pictures of them. Keep up with the good work.

I have both the Sony FE 35mm f1.8 and this lens. At half the price, this lens is sharper, pulling focus more naturally in video and according to Arthur, it's even sharper than the crowned Sigma 30mm f1.4 on an APS-C body (that doesn't happen a lot, Full frame glasses are usually less sharp on APS-C bodies). Chromatic Aberration is pretty much gone when you step down even at f2. Samyang is killing the game with this series. They constantly updating the firmware too. No reason to go for the 1st party lenses anymore.

I was considering the Samyang 35mm F2.8 prior to watching this video as at the moment, I do not have a large aperture 35mm for my a6600 body. I am now reconsidering the choice. Since my budget is limited and AF is a requirement, I'm more or less restricted to the F1.8 or F2.8 Samyang lenses. Both of which are available locally for £359GBP (F1.8) and £279GBP (F2.8). The CA is a bit of a shame with the F1.8 lens though...plus I have a full set of 49mm Hoya filters which would work excellent on the F2.8 lens. Tough choice to make! Excellent video though, keep up the great work.

nice video as always Arthur. It would have been nice to test it out on your A7. I wonder how busy the bokeh looks like, and if the lens gives a "3D" feel/separation to the subject. @@adilmohammad7263 going for the a6100 might not be the solution. Your 20mm at f1.7 is equivalent to 40@1.7 in FF. The Samyang will be even longer : 35mm on a6100 makes ~52mm!. Plus the sensor is not stabilised on the a6100 so you will need to crank up the iso to compensate shutter speed... Absolutely no gain there. You might be "on par" with the A7 (which is not stabilised either). I'de look for stabilized optics for m4/3 to complement inbody stabilisation OR getting a more recent m4/3 body OR changing sensor size -with- in body stabilisation ($$$$$).
