You could build a great solar powered gaming rig that is more practical than having to shell out a lot in a solar setup. A simple setup could do 40 to 50 watts fully loaded and another 20 watts for a good gaming monitor using 12v input. You can just put a regulator on there or spend the extra on a filtered regulator to power the setup.

@t.terone5222 жыл бұрын
@@filipjovanovic8138 I think the reason for it sounding like a jet engine is more negligence and indifference by the manufacturer. Like "I dont care its good enough" I usually HATE HP because their products are crap. They are one of those disgusting "milk consumers by selling them 2 cent INK for their printers at a 30 dollar price". And their things had absolutely crap quality at least 15 years ago. Like my old laptops GPU was not even physically connected to the FAN. The metal never touched the gpu and so it constantly went 100°C and turned itself off that also killed my battery in the process. But I got a gaming laptop from HP by coincidence which is 100% silent when idle and barely audible when playing games. Which suprised me alot because of HPs usual quality... At the same time I have a lenovo with integrated graphics (radeon vega 3) which is 10x as loud. Both are 15". And another gaming laptop from Dell G15 5510 is also at least 3x as loud as the HP. My mother has a Medion 17" Laptop which constantly ramps up the fan it goes up and down and up and down. And is really annoying she has some intel iGPU from the 8000 generation. I wanted to return it the moment I turned it on but she didnt care and went "whatever" so she kept it. I think the best way to solve this problem is to absolutely avoid manufacturers who make loud laptops so they will finally CARE. You know they wont probably care about the user but they will care about their empty wallets and the result is the same in the end. Better tech. People also need to stop busying laptops with only 1 ram slot. Stupid single channel also has to die :)

The same actually holds true for the 5800u VS the 5700G, which are the same chip, one at 15w, the other at 65w, those two can be pushed to 80-90w for the best performance, with high speed DDR4 4933CL17, but the performance difference between 15w, and even 65w to 80w is just not worth it when you're on battery surprised Edit, dont right click on a word that has been hilighted and correct it, apparently the whole paragraph gets hilighted red, and if you submit the comment its all deleted everything but the corrected word, so you're missing 1/2 my response, which i'll add later

At first I thought it was a glitch or an update but it kept doing it worse and worse until the next morning it wouldn't boot with a display. You could still hear the sounds but no screen. Same when I plugged a monitor in also. I seen other people with the same experiences and had a tech talk about the APU having graphic output issues and to stay clear of these. I was leaning very hard towards the AYNs and the AYAs and the GPDs, but after getting my steam deck, I don't think I would switch unless they had steam input. So many games that I couldnt play with just a gamepad become playable with steam input and these trackpads. It has become my favorite thing feature of the steam deck.

Aya neo next 2 will have discrete gpu and trackpads if ur looking for a more powerful steam deck competition

@@ghostlegit That is the one I'm hopeful for, but I'm not expecting the price to be under $1200

@@j_a_a probably 1300-1600 however the thing with that one is it is upgradable and it has track pads and big screen. Might be worth the money or considering it

Can you do a comparison test with the 6600u, 6800u, and the 5000 series laptop to see the difference?

ETA PRIME - Is this using the same panel as the Thinkbook 13s G4 you reviewed? I am agonizing over buying the Thinkbook with the 6800U, 16GB, WiFi 6 and 300nit with Dolby Vision vs the X13 with the 6850U, WiFi 6e, 16GB and 300nit. It is ~$300 more for the X13. I tend to keep a laptop for quite a while. What are your thoughts? P.S. The second M.2 slot is for a optional WWAN card and will not support a second NVME drive.

One minor suggestion, if you're doing laptop GPU benchmarks, you can sometimes mention in the final conclusion part which desktop GPU/laptop GPU equivalent this certain GPU performs, since you already have the benchmark scores for a lot of them. I know its a little bit more effort, but sometimes knowing which desktop GPU its performing on the level of makes choosing which laptop to buy and setting expectations much more easier.

It could be ideal work laptop but they've decided against changeable battery on ThinkPads which is such a fucking shame... I really miss old T450s and T460s with dual battery system, one being internal, another one being hot swappable.

Why no comparison? I never see any comparison, when you show any results. It's frustrating. It would be really interesting to see a detailed comparison with the Steam Deck and any 6800U! The 6600U does have less CUs but higher clock and more bandwidth in this laptop.

Not sure why you didn’t test at 15w. I think most will be playing at that TDP for a balance of battery life and power. Not only that but then you would have a better comparison to the SteamDeck.
@shineymcshine2 жыл бұрын
ETA, you really need to test God of War and Cyberpunk at a rez someone would actually consider playing - see if we can at least hit a steady 30 fps. No one will be staring at the god awful rendering of 720p + FSR performance, that's like PS2 era resolution being grossly upscaled.

@shlokshah53792 жыл бұрын
Steam os is kinda wonkey out of the deck. You get no tdp control. Most handheld manufacturers will have something like that in windows so using big picture mode or steam pal mode (which is replacing big picture) will give you a similar experience. You will also get 110% game compablity as games from the other stores would run better on windows.

I wouldn't put benchmarks with FSR 1 lower than quality. It's so blurry it's unplayable. Especially with 720p resolution.
