I had been recording and then exporting to Final Cut Pro to edit... Just recorded AND EDITED my latest episode all in Riverside! This is huge! No more dealing with editing captions (and more) in Final Cut, thank you! Only suggestions would be (which I'm sure you guys are already working on): 1. Better control of video fades between clips Added 2. Better control of audio fades as well mostly for intro logo and outro logo videos. 3. Make layout changes clip (chapter?) specific - for Intro logo vids and when its just me in the intro and outro segment having the ability to make those full screen and then when I'm actually interviewing a guest change layouts to the more screen shared variant. 4. Direct video upload option to youtube... and other socials would be nice but direct to youtube would save the most time. Overall a huge improvement and the time saved without having to download then edit then reupload is huge and worth the minor audio issues currently, thank you!

There’s some fantastic new features here. It is a bit of a shame you don’t play us any of the edit points. It’s one thing moving audio around, but it’s another thing to make it sound smooth and natural. EQ and Dynamics would be a great additional feature, as would basic multitracks for each participant.

Great work. I love the constant updates and small features you keep adding to improve rather than buying a product that sits still until a new version is released. I had a glitch today but was able to talk to a real person through chat within riverside software. They were able to recover a failed export within an hour and emailed it to me all complete! Question: where did you get that color changing light in the background and those wall panels?

We don't have a granular volume adjustment, but if you toggle not "Normalization" on export, Riverside will make sure the volumes match!

Hey there, not just yet, but if you create clips with the layout you prefer, you can splice those additional clips into a new edit. We know this is a much requested feature so stay tuned!

Because no matter how many cuts you made, the " layout" is the same , so if you want to focus in Guest 1 (fullscreen) and then another cut in layout ( Grid) is not posible

Right now you can only select one type of layout per clip, BUT you can create multiple clips with different layout features, and splice them all together in one clip!

For some reason the audio on my recording is always much lower than the audio of my guest even though during the podcast we can hear each other fine. When I click normalize audio, it raises my audio volume to the same level as my guest but there are many moments of distortion. The only way to fix this is using software to manually raise my audio level without distorting it. Any suggestions?

For that I would recommend doing a screen share or uploading video to the media board and playing it live as you record. This way in the editor you'll see it appear larger, or you can use our AI full screen layout and it will focus on the active speaker or shared media at any given time. Hey there! The great part about editing with Riverside is not matter what you delete in our editor, your raw files, audio and video, are all untouched! You can create as many edits as you'd like, and each time you start a new one, the full recording is available to you.

Thanks! And while you can use our Secondary Camera feature with mobile devices, there is not a way to manually choose the camera angle you would like in the editor right now. Our AI layouts feature *can* focus on the active speaker throughout the clip though.

There are times I want the split screen and showing everyone (with grid mode including framing with background), but also times I only want the speaker shown - and with the grid mode for having the color branding etc.. Can you move the subtitles to fit the imported phone clip / imported clips in general? Also is it possible to move your video so you get the ratio you want? I filmed a video where we are 2 people, and I chose the format to fit tiktok, but then you only see half of our faces, and I cant seem to figure out if it's possible to just move the video clip so it focuses on my face while i talk, and then shifts when my friend talks? Really outstanding tutorials! WOW. I am really learning a lot. However I still cannot find a way to save a studio with all my edits, text, chapters, intro/outro, logo etc as a sort of template in order to create a new podcast episode. I need to be able to do this in order to quickly replace content, make minor changes in stead of rebuilding everything from scratch every single time. Once I export the contents of the studio, all this work appears to be gone; only the exported video remains. Help?!

@@Riversidefm This is an absolute MUST for podcasters with anything but the very simplest productions! Anyone with anything a bit edit-heavy is aching for a template! The simple ability to duplicate a studio would fix this in the short-term. If duplicated before the export, then a copy of all the working files now exists in 2 places. Once one of them exports, that "working studio" can still be accessed thanks to the duplicate.

Do you have tools like fade etc.? Also, when i download the video or audio file i get mp4.crdownload (video) or wav.crdownload (audio). This extension is not recognized by DaVinci preventing me from editing outside of Riverside. Any idea why i get this extension?

We don't have fades built-in to the editor just yet, but it sounds like those downloaded files are incomplete. Typically once the file downloads fully it will change to the typical .wav or .mp4 extensions.

For some reason when I'm editing, the precision editing doesn't work when attempting to move the audio clips. When I click to extend the clip, once I let go of my cursor, the extension or removal defaults to the original AI edit. Any help here? I'm also unable to change the look of the cursor most of the time if that's helpful - it stays as the pointer finger.

You can create as many edits / clips as you would like in the Riverside editor! The fastest way to make clips like that is select text in the transcript in the editor, click the 3-dot menu, and choose "keep only this".

Riverside doesn't host podcasts at the moment, so you will still need a host like Libsyn. But we do have a direct integration with Spotify for Podcasts now which offers free hosting!

Yes! We call them "Auto Layouts" and when you go into the Riverside editor, it will focus on whoever is speaking throughout the recording.

This is great. I would like to signup. However, is there, or will there be, similar support for imported clips as there is for record clips? I mean in terms of transcription and video/audio clips linked for synchronized editing (even if it has to be synced manually first)? We have a backlog of audio and video files for episodes we need to catch up on before we start recording more. I’d like to import the audio tracks and the video footage from each camera, sync them up, and then edit away.

Thanks! So you can upload files to a studio right now, but not multi-track. So it would require syncing them and exporting a single file outside of Riverside, and then uploading the combined track to your studio for the editor, AI features, etc.

I really want this to be our number one tool for our podcast bc we love the content you provide and overall customization features we can use. We are having one small issue though and it is about drifting (voices and spoken words not synchronizing). It has affected our deleted portions of our convo where its not supposed to be said but still does anyways. What do we need to do to sync our voices and words back together? Jesus H. Christ, this is indeed mindblowing. That easily cuts the editing time for an episode down to a fifth. Just one question: For my audio-only podcast I used backround music for the intro and outro and for the short sneak peak we produce to play before the actual episode. So far, we recorded the sneak peak text and then I manually laid the background music under this text, fading it then directly into our produced podcast intro (which uses the same music). So, I'm using a lot of fading in and out for the background music. Is that also something I can do inside the Riverside editor?
