I love Arishem. It is one of my favorite decks to play in the game. Arishem allows me to play with cards that I don't have and see combos that I would never see if I just made a deck or found a deck online. Its basically Draft mode before Draft mode releases. I have this one deck I play that has Agatha, Arishem, and Thanos...I call it my Random Chaos Deck, and the other cards are just big cards, War machine, and I think I put Caiera, but i may have removed Caiera, I haven't been playing that one, I made a booster farm deck with Arishem and 8 of the main arishem deck cards and then the other 3 I fill in the cards I want boosters for.

Mailbag: Card acquisition could be fine, if second and third card in spotlight caches would be better. While High evo will show up for the 5th time (!!!) other cards never come back. I've made some research and here are some "Big Bads": Supergiant: came back to spotlight caches after release after 38 weeks. Blink: entered spotlight caches after release after 39 weeks. Gilgamesh: never been in spotlight caches, was released 26 weeks ago (and due to dataminers won't be in spotlight caches for next 11 weeks as well) Phastos: didn't return to spotlight caches after release for 23 weeks (and won't for next 11 weeks).

While I agree with the idea that Series 4 needs to be greatly expanded and realistically obtainable through the collection track, I still think that the best thing Snap can do for it's long-term health is move away from how the current progression system is structured altogether. Even with the solution proposed in the mailbag, you're just kicking the can further down the road in terms of series bloat. If you remember back to when most players were collecting series 3, it wasn't uncommon to see people complaining in the discord server that series 3 took far longer than the first two series to progress through & since it's a lot bigger than first two series it was a lot harder to get the cards you wanted for the decks you were building. This solution will effectively guarantee that Second Dinner, given enough time and card releases, recreate the exact same issue within series 4 as more and more series 5 cards drop down and become obtainable on the track. It might not seem like a huge deal to people who have up-to-date accounts (playing since beta or willing to pay to catch up with releases), but this will just end up as another massive hurdle for onboarding new players, and as both Cozy and Alex have mentioned on the show several times already, Snap's new player experience is truly suffering due to the ongoing economy issues. Even if Snap was to move away from just five series of cards and regularly added new series pools and only kept the latest series as the 'chase' cards you need to pull with keys, now you introduce the issue of arbitrarily creating blocks of cards that you NEED to progress through in order to remain up-to-date. What if you want to play a discard deck, but you're a new(ish) account working through series 4 and there's an archetype-defining card in series 6, and nothing else of value for the deck in series 5? Do you pay to blast through series 5 and get to the staple, or just accept that you'll need to play some suboptimal discard strategy for what could be several months before you get to that staple? What if the format changes within that time and that series 6 card just isn't relevant anymore? This is why I firmly believe series drops are NOT the answer, and continuing to try and make them a central part of the game's economy creates more problems at worst and just pushes them off to further down the line at best. What I really hope Snap will do, even if I think it will NEVER happen, is for this 'progression rework' they've been promising to completely throw out the current series 4/5 system and admit that caches and the token shop were band-aid solutions to their original intended monetization scheme, Nexus Events. I can't blame Second Dinner for not creating a perfect progression/economy system in the context that caches and tokens had to be rolled out because by dropping Nexus Events, the game was left without a system to better encourage players to spend money and forced them to stall out on new card releases. They had to dream up a new monetization scheme essentially unique to Snap, all while knowing that the longer it took them to come up with anything, the more and more pressure would mount on them since no Nexus Events meant no weekly releases or money-sink. Second Dinner needs to acknowledge that the current system is simply unsustainable and should never have become the centerpiece of progression and economy the way that it has. Maybe the reason the rework has taken so long is because they've recognized they need to just throw the whole thing away and trying to come up with a SECOND Whole New Thing that won't collapse on itself in another year IS just actually that hard, I've looked through so many comment sections/threads on snap content on various platforms and have not ONCE seen a player proposal that didn't both 1. fail to address series bloat and the runoff effects into the new player experience & 2. didn't force Second Dinner to essentially run a charity I have not been this worried for the long-term health and survival of this game since the initial Nexus Events reveal. I still remember reading through the explanations for Nexus Event drop chances and the abysmal pity system with my sister; both of us said to each other 'if they keep this in place this game will be dead within a year.' Thankfully, they walked back Nexus Events, but they have still not walked tokens and keys. If they don't I'm not sure this game even has another year left. I want this game to succeed, I really do. There's so much to love: I think the gameplay makes Snap not just the best MOBILE game ever, not just one of the best CARD games ever, but one of the best GAMES ever, and the Marvel IP is just the icing on top. And, let's face it, it's easily the best Marvel mobile game, and I really don't want Snap to become 'just another Marvel mobile game', because this game is leagues above Puzzle Quest, Strike Force, Future Fight, and Contest of Champions (sorry Alex & Cozy, I know you guys both recently got that sponsorship, but you know you agree with me lol)

My idea to fix card acquisition: Multiple cards are released once a month or once a quarter. The keys that you have acquired, only open from that set. With tokens, you can target the cards you want to get to help build the decks you want. With this system, you would get less free keys, but more tokens. Free to play players can eventually get the cards they want after a few months if they aren't lucky in their pulls. Spenders can be collection complete by spending to get more keys to get more cards as soon as they come out. One of the most exciting parts about other games was opening packs after a new season. And then trying to build decks. This game doesn't have that. You take one of the most fun parts about other games and every weak, you hope not to get screwed by wasting keys to try to get one card.

Thanks for the video, and I really hope you meet your sub goal soon. I consider myself a semi-casual player; I usually end up in the high 70s, low 80s in terms of rank, as I don't really care to grind all the way to Infinite rank. So, with that said, I personally don't like Arishem and I've gotten into the habit of checking how many cards my opponent has in their deck and retreating right away if I see they're playing Arishem. I don't like playing against the randomness of the deck, and yes, there are counters to it like Cassandra Nova, but it also felt like every time I played against Arishem, they had the counters to my counters. I understand why other players enjoy playing the deck, but I simply don't like it.

Playing since launch, CL 18,550. Nothing feels different this season. Saw bots in the 90s and they play exactly the same as always. Sometimes you just hit a bad run and the climb feels harder, but your MMR is the same and so is the presense of bots. Used galacta surfer for an easy day 3- infinite (you can see my decklist in r/marvelsnapcomp post 2 days ago)

Crazy enough I think the way to nerf gorr is to increase his power. Make him like a 6/7 or 6/8 that gains one power per on reveal. It really hurts him in the negative deck but still makes him viable and a big card in the other decks

Galacta and Luna elevating Surfer to even greater heights. Ive been alternating between Malekith Discard and Galacta Surfer and Im actually having fun in the game again for the first time in a while. However (and unfortunately) between both those decks there's probably almost a dozen series 4 or 5 cards so my 'fun' comes with a hefty price tag. Sure you can sub a few cards out for series 3 or lower ones but theres a reason those cards are part of a net decked version of each deck. With xmas right around the corner wouldnt it very giving of SD to gift every player a series 5 card of their choice or 3 keys (not 4 since you can get more than 1 card with keys). Tis the season (ofc im kidding, not about it being nice if SD gave everyone a free card, but about that ever being a possibility). Im not bitter, nope-not at all

As long as "not having every card" and "every player has a unique collection" is a core philosophy of Snap, we won't be seeing any huge difference in card acquisition. Reason being the moment they implement something radical, a huge portion of the population will be collection complete in a very short time which I suspect they don't want. They need to give up on that philosophy and allow people to be collection complete, only then will they really be able to make any drastic changes to acquisition.

Arishem doesn’t bother me that much. Yes getting scammed by them generating the perfect counter or top deck is frustrating but the deck usually just performs like a mid range stats deck and will lose to 20-25 power in two locations.

Alex you keep coping with this Bruce Banner/High Evo synergy but BRUCE BANNER WILL NOT GET THE EFFECT FROM HIGH EVO. High Evo gives the ability to cards that start in your hand, but the Hulk card that Banner transforms into does not start in your hand.

imo people are SLEEPING on bruce. he's a 2-cost that threatens to flip a lane after each turn, and if your opponent doesn't keep that in mind, they risk losing that lane instantly on like turn 5 or 6 and you can just set and forget him, as your opponent doesn't know whether you plan on floating energy each turn and therefore doesn't know if bruce will be a threat, at least somewhat forcing them to commit to that lane

Hi Alex and Cozy. Been listening to u since day one. Thx for the several hours of entertainment you have given me. My question for the Snap Chat Mailbag is more of a suggestion to rework the Guardians of the Galaxy. I propose changing their effects so that they gain power when played in a location you are currently losing. That way, they are more beginner-friendly, they are not overpowered since u need to be in a disadvantageous position to take full advantage of them, and it fits their motif of being a team that travels to different locations in the galaxy to save people in their time of need.

What has always pissed me off the most about Arishem is what he can generate. He generates cards that create cards, cards that steal cards, cards that reduce cost or ramp energy even more than he's already doing. I had someone who put out 2 Loki's in one game because he had his own and Arishem gave him one. There are just things Arishem should not be allowed to generate. Any Card Generator. Any Ramp Cards or Cost Reduction, Any cards that are manipulated by other cards (Blob/Mockingbird) and in the future he should definitely not generate Victoria Hand.

The issue is that you guys don't know when to retire. Arishem is rng based to the extreme. It might give you incredible plays but other times is just a dud. If an arishem snaps early you should retire, if you continue then do it on your own risk knowing that arishem probably pulled a great one​@@_gelato.god_4265
