@@HenrysAdventures The world is full of surprises, I came across a wonderful railway around a nursery in the New Forest, it was only open to the public a few days a year. I made a video, but the guy who owned it asked me not to publish it because he didn't really want anyone other than a few locals to know about it. I wonder how many other similar private railways exist around the country?

On standard gauge, Leeds to Skipton trains had to reverse into one of the platforms at Shipley before the new Platform 5 (now renumbered) was built on the mainline.
@HenrysAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Didn't know about that one, other than that Shipley is a triangular station. That's an area I'd like to explore in the future.
@randomroveruk67152 жыл бұрын
@@HenrysAdventures Originally there were just 4 platforms. I think 1 and 2 served Bradford Forster Square to Bingley and beyond, and 3 and 4 were for Forster Square to Ilkley and Leeds, but it could be the other way around. The track was removed from platform 1 at some time. Later platform 5 was built on the Leeds to Skipton line. When the Leeds, Bradford Forster Square, Skipton and Ilkley lines were electrified, a platform on the Skipton to Leeds line and a footbridge were built, and I believe the new mainline platforms became 1 and 2, and the other 3 platforms became 3, 4 and 5. I need to check! I also think that trains from Skipton to Leeds would have arrived in platform 2, pulled forward past Bradford Junction box then reversed into platform 3 before continuing through Guiseley Junction.

Nice video also if your planning on doing more narrow gauge videos I'd recommend going to amberly museum in West Sussex we have a narrow gauge railway there with 2 steam engines both built buy bagnalls and the oldest of the twos boiler ticket expired at the end of this year so if you would like to catch 1905 built polar bear in service I'd recommend going soon as we think the overall will take a long would recommend either miniature steam weekend with all the miniature traction engines there or autumn industrial trains day
