Do you understand that perhaps a lot of the shit the continent is going through has been a direct result of imperialism of the West over the past centuries? Do you know what happened when marxist leader Thomas Sankara came to power in Burkina Faso? He vaccinated millions of people, literacy rates increased by vast amounts, and 10 million trees were planted in just four years time whilst he fought for women's rights and a decent standard of living for all. He only accepted a modest military wage himself and demanded that government officials were to only travel second class on airplanes among many other things. He did that by rejecting every cent of foreign aid offered to the country. I am convinced some African countries can do just fine if the west were to leave them alone.

WOW, Wendover! The amount of research and video editing to do Parts 1 & 2 - 2 hours! I estimate approx. 4 weeks of work. Incredible. What a job! I was in Saqqara when the archeologists were there. There was a BBC crew filming a team from Oxford University in one of the tombs when I was allowed to gain entrance (at a small price). Thank YOU!

Not really. There are a lot of different methods for cutting wood, depending which direction you're cutting and what stage of the process you're working on. For a lot of the middle stages between "felling a tree" and "cutting large bits of firewood into smaller bits for kindling", you drive a wedge into the wood, then smack the back of the wedge with a hammer. Safer and more efficient than using an axe, as I understand it.

The only reason to use a wedge over an axe is that you can't split the log in one strike, as is the case for large logs of hardwood or the woodchopper not having enough stamina to repeatedly strike with a heavy splitting axe at full force.
