Later in an interview DICE claims that "one of the reasons Specialists in Battlefield 2042 failed is because players did not understand how the Specialists system was supposed to work" So rather than say they missed the mark and take responsibility they basically called all their consumers stupid. They are completely out of touch with what the BF community wants in a BF game. My expectations for the next game are non-existent. BattleBit or bust.

Exactly! I do really well as an infantry in BF4. The other night, I had an AMAZING squad. We ended up losing the game, but my squad was at the top and I had 77 kills, 17 deaths, and 23k+ score. I lost the game but had an absolute blast playing with a good squad.

I think the idea of taking what has worked in the past and expanding on it is the way forward. There were a lot of great features that past games had, which seemed to disappear for 2042. Honestly, if they just remastered BF2, added some maps and levolution, brought back commander mode and increase the squad size for the people that have more than 3 friends I think the game would be a hit. Make BR, unlocks, single player and operators secondary features to good gameplay.

Would be fun though I much rather have a new game that retains the core bf3 and 4 features but gives us new maps, they could do some remakes like the second assault dlc did but if they're going to just remake the entire game with better graphics it's not going to be the same. They need to make maps thay capture the same flow, versatility and excitement as the bf3 and 4 maps, they can surely take inspiration from it but I don't think a 1 on 1 copy is going to keep you playing for years to come

It really wasn’t, sure the bugs were absolutely there. But it still kept the action and “only in battlefield” moments much like any other battlefield game before it. Sure it didn’t have destruction or classes but the more I think about it, the more I realize that battlefield wasn’t about those things. Battlefield has always been about teamwork and warfare on a grand scale, which they tried with 128 players.

@@squidwardo7074 the lower ttk enables ranged gunplay. High ttk becomes arena gun play with a running simulator between arenas. Passive health Regen also makes medics much less relevant which diminishes squad play which makes classes irrelevant. It sounds like you want battlefield 2042 again.

As a long time fan of Battlefield, all I want is Battlefield 1 levels of atmosphere, a somewhat modern setting, ACTUAL DESTRUCTABLE ENVIRONMENTS and a good single player experience with likable characters. Battlebit does have somewhat complicated mechanics of comparing to standard shooters like COD/Battlefield like leaning, tac reloads and recycling mags, etc. however it feels way better and more natural after playing for awhile.

While I wouldn't be opposed to them implementing those aspects in the next battlefield, It would be cool if they were optional, maybe something that different servers can enable or disable? As realistic and an interesting mechanic as recycling mags is, sometimes you just want to reload and not worry about bullet management or remembering to reload your rpg ahead of time.

Battlefield doesn’t need a “reimagination” that’s what 2042 was when they reimagined a score board not being needed. Battlefield is simple. It’s squads, classes with roles, teamplay, destructive environment, and vehicles and infantry in symmetry. Keep the core aspects as the foundation and play around with the rest.

They should bring back "Battlefield Premium" like in BF3 and BF4. Every 3-4 months a new expansion pack got released and gamebreaking bugs/glitches got erased as fast as they could. (BF3 Release - Operation Metro flying inside the walls of metro with a Mav, for example) No Battle Pass and just unlockable content and weapons just by completing tasks and assignments and progressing by ranking up, just accessible for everybody. The biggest problem is that they allow themselfs to use the moneymaking "extras/features" from other games, and not the sensible ones that are actually helpful, to attract a younger playerbase with that fancy and colorful and mostly completely exaggerated skins. A Battle Pass is unnecessary, when you provide enough interesting content. I remember getting hyped when the trailers for new battlefield 3 dlc came out, with new missions, new weapons, new maps and vehicles, but now its just like "oh hey.. another one... again?" And if they want to bring some fresh air to the battlefield franchise to attact new players, they should allow for keeping the veterans aswell. Because the battlefield lore or storys are mostly fictional, they should also consider adding more factions like in BF2 with a variety of weapons, equipment etc. Well, we will probably see what fancy ideas they got in 2025 and I'm still hopeful that they find a way on the right path again. The best battlefield in my opinion would be: bf5 gun play,battlefield 1 or 4 map variation,vehicle balance from a mixture of 1/4 and 5. With historically accurate attachments in a vietnam or middle eastern setting. Alternatively a battlefield game where all the battles you fight are based on proxy wars. Putting it a cold war setting.

Battlefield 3 and 4 were so damn good. I would love the next battlefield to tow the line closer to mil sim. Not full blown squad but something like that. I guess a HLL modern combat? More fast paced. But I’d also be happy with a BF3 updated for today

As far as the portal mode is concerned, I can only agree. I was never really interested in the main game. But the portal mode had so much potential. If I could play maps like Karkand, Sharqi or Mashtuur, I would actually buy the game^^

My perfect Battlefield game would be future. I think they can do SO much more. There is no boundaries on what you can do, crazy guns, cool looking outfits for your character, vehicle, vehicle skins/customization, gun skins, gun customization and not to mention destruction. Heck have some gore in there too. A good campaign with a good story. We just want a game that has the core of what a Battlefield game is suppose to be. Team play, classes, a server browser etc....stop trying to copy what other games are doing and just be Battlefield.

Loved the graphics and smoothness from bf5 and the gun recoil and handling from bf1. In a modern setting i think that would be amazing. Hopefully gun audio next game is a little different i personally thought they didn't sound powerful

I mostly play Battlefield 1 and i love the game. I never played a lot of games growing up, but bf1 was the first game i started playing after i got my first "gaming" laptop. I also am an esports writer for an online magazine/journal site. now our govt is banning import on foreign made laptop/desktop parts over "security concerns". Few days back, Steam was banned for a few hours by some internet providers as a result of govt directives. Videos like these just break my heart man.

Battlefield 1's atmosphere, grit, and tone, BF3/BFV style gunplay, hard to see enemies with camouflage that works, with abundant destructible buildings in a modern setting is the dream. What they imply from this video though to me hints at more Portal style crossovers, a "hub" of content, potential greater focus on custom community stuff, server control(?)

My perfect Battlefield game is simply one that doesn't completely bin the previous game when the next one launches. That's the "connected ecosystem" I want, with a server browser. I thought Portal was going to start to be a solution for that, but it hasn't been. BFV I think is the best the game has ever felt to play for movement, gunplay and destruction. But they chucked it all for 2042. All the games back to BF3 should be accessible via the same launcher, and have a browser to see hosted servers. DICE could run events that encourage players to go back to the older games for stretches between the current game's seasons, etc. That might be a lot to ask for, but losing everything every two years sucks. All fans have asked for is a game that more closely resembles BF3 and BF4. I think 2042 is getting there, but it sounds like they're ready to completely bin all that work again just as they're getting it playable.

When will these large studios realize it isn't efficient for them to try to re-imagine everything on their own? Battlefield Portal was the element that gave me the most hope for the system and SHOULD be the center of their "ecosystem", as you mention, with the ability to manipulate geometry and triggers. The community will build what they want with a good foundation. It took the 3 devs of BattleBit 7 years to do this but their game and it's success speaks for itself.

bf2 was my childhood frrr had only 4GB of data per month for the whole family up until the servers were shut down so i was stuck to only ever playing the default maps with the default guns against bots but even then it was so great. I remember playing heaps of zatar wetlands getting a bot to jump in a buggy with me to go cap the center flag and get it to fly the helicopter for me because it was the only map in the base game that had a helicopter where the gunner's weapon was an explosive cannon
