Nice review here. Couple of compelling arguments/thoughts to be had here. The biggest argument that seems to be made is based on this price point there are other vehicles worth considering specifically the BMW X5 which seems to really jump out in many other reviews which I'd like to address and possibly hear some additional feedback on. I agree with your mention of Lexus quality/reliability which has a very good track record when comparing against specifically BMW. However, these 4 cyl turbo/hybrid engines are relatively new as are a lot of the tech Lexus has been pumping into all of their new RX's which remains to be seen how reliable they really are now. Only time will tell. I think if you lease your car(s), at this price point, the X5 might be a more fun way to go. After 2-3 years trade the lease in, who cares. If your buying/financing and keeping the car for more than that, I question the X5 reliability even though Consumer Reports and other publications has it ranked as one of if not their top Mid Size Luxury SUV's now. I think its safe to say however, depreciation still appears to be one of the worst with BMW and I'm not sure why compared to Lexus. I also know for fact, depending on the Lexus dealership one would work with, Lexus does have some pretty creative financing/lease deals which BMW and other car manufacturers do not have. Lexus is very smart with how they manage the money/deals they make. The other cars I've tested and looked into all seem to be pretty cookie cutter, plug the numbers into their systems and it spits out your monthly payments, etc. Lexus appears to do things a little differently which can benefit the consumer. This is a real pillow fight and not sure which direction to go in just yet here.

I too am very concerned with the heavy seat bolstering. I am 6’2” 225 with a 38” waist. It feels tight and not sure if I am just not used to that or if it is uncomfortably. Hard to spend enough time in the seat to make sure it doesn’t cause discomfort on long trips. I wish the had adjustable bolsters or other seat options Curious since you had the car a week to your detailed seat comments

Thanks, honestly, I’m an inch shorter but sound just a tad bit bigger than you and I had zero issue at all. I can say that I like bolstering and am usually comfortable with it but definitely know what you mean where they can be uncomfortable but this vehicle didn’t have that at all for me.

I really enjoyed your review (and found it quite informative as well). I drove this model about week ago and loved it…however, I’m not used to bolstered seats. Sometimes it felt fine and other times I felt the right thigh bolster pressing into my leg since the accelerator pedal was positioned all the way to the right on the floor. Did you experience this? If so/if not, do you have any advice on how to mitigate bolster issues?
