As a buyer of a 500h, I can say I would not have considered a lesser trim. I hope Lexus makes an actual F, but for now I’m enjoying my 500h, it’s a nice balance of everything and finally it has a little excitement for buyers like me.

Everything except performance... the engine is still pretty weak. I mean 5.9 second 0-60 is like an Accord with a V6, can't really call it performance oriented can you? Look at competition performances, all mid/high tiers will leave the RX 500h in dust. With that said, yes, Lexus is going to be most reliable, no questions asked. Not hating on Lexus at all, just laying out the facts
@rightlanehog31512 жыл бұрын
Alex, With the V6 gone it seems to me the RX 350h will be the most 'traditional' and popular RX of the bunch. With a naturally aspirated engine, proven nickel metal hydride battery and a spare tire the 350h is like gourmet caliber comfort food. In a world full of unpleasant surprises, many Lexus buyers will be looking for soothing familiarity. I think the Canadian assembly workers putting it together will be kept busy😉

Compared to the Midsize Premium SUV segment, Lexus owners are more often women, are older, and enjoy a lower median annual household income. J.D. Power data shows that 42% of Lexus RX owners are female (vs. 38% for the segment), that their median age is 65 (vs. 58 for the segment), and that their median annual household income is $155,303 (vs. $184,248 for the segment).

One could argue that women are generally smarter than most men? lol Although, from your provided info, it does seem like men are just as smart since more than half own an RX? Additionally, most young people, generally speaking, just aren't able to afford luxury vehicles so no real insight there. But still trying to figure out your motive in presenting this so apart from being a misogynist, I'm just gonna guess it's just small dk syndrome?

@@Mark-de4hj ...and this was 2017 data. I just see elderly driving couple year old versions would be around $50K or less. This new one starts at $50K and could bump $80K! Sad this is not their EV when Cadillac Lyriq starts at $59K.

@Mark Bought the RX500H F-Sport, and everyone looking at and buying the new RX'S from those I saw were under 60, and I'm 47. RX was originally marketed to people in their 60s, but now they're not. Most people I see driving Cadillacs are all over 60, and those who are not have Escalades. Having watched a few different RX videos before and after getting mine. Norm T has posted the same comment along with some other guy making negative comments about Lexus. The other guy claims Genesis is more reliable and better equipped. Also claims his 5 year old Camry is more powerful than my RX500H, hahaha!!

Not every buyer want a driver's SUV with bumpy ride for curving canyons
@AAutoBuyersGuide2 жыл бұрын
True that.
@naveenthemachine2 жыл бұрын
But the problem is that every other suv in the class can carve canyons much better. Some of the very soft options can carve canyons better than the F performance RX Take the X5 w the air suspension or aviator w air suspension or type S w air suspension. Those are much softer more comfortable yet they can simultaneously carve canyons way better

What the heck is going on with those ugly front ends. Does anybody care how long it will take to clean that mesh grill? It also allows bugs to jam up into the radiator. What are they thinking???

0-60 in 7.4? with all that dated tech remix and still? even for a budget premium brand it is still not acceptable. so basicly the Jpanese does not have the Turbo technology like the germans and doesn't have the Electric car technology like the Americans and the Chinese.

Sounds like the 340 hp Crown (which uses a similar drivetrain) is about to be a 6.1 second car. That's insanely BAD performance for the power.

I been driving all those modern cars with those teeny tiny engines turbocharged to maximum with those infinity gears transmission and the all are insanely horrible and unpleasant. Maybe on paper they beat the old big engine engineering but in terms of comfort they far far beyond. Constant gear changing with slightest touch of the gas pedal they shuffling gears back and forth back and forth. I recent got 2002 Grand Cherokee 4.7 with only FOUR gear transmission and honestly this is HEAVEN power all the time under my foot, no gear changing always there. Yes, yes i know fuel economy this and that and i AGREE but AGAIN in terms of comfort you CAN NOT beat that! Lexus was the only one with their amazing 3.5L V6 and look what they done too. Lousy 4 CYLINDER woow. Back nin the days you were buing lexury car for their LUXURY and PERFORMANCE now i honestly don't know what distinguishes LUXURY brand from top trim for example hudna. Those basic brands have performance same or better.

You can always get the GX460 with its old school v8 and body on frame that is great for off-road driving. Full-time 4wd and a real 6 speed. My plan was to get a 2023 GX460, but due to a car accident and being a double amputee, RX was a better and more practical option for me. Would love if they still used V6's over turbocharged I4s, but the governments of the world made it hard to do so. The GX will be the last V8 from Toyota/Lexus sadly as they go to a turbocharged V6 like in the Sequoia and new 4Runner. They wanted 8k more for a Grand Cherokee 4xe with similar trim to my RX500H F-sport performance. Plus, most dealers wanted a markup on Grand Cherokee hybrids, and that equaled to 10k to 12k more after taxes. That isn't even feasible to me but is to a lot other buyers and don't mind that massive depreciation 2 feet after pulling off the lot.

Not sure what is going on in the Toyota design department, but good grief they are pumping out some shockingly ugly cars. All the weird bulges and fake vents are so tacky, and they’ve somehow managed to make the spindle grill look even worse. NiMh batteries have substantially less power output ability than a lithium battery, even if they have the same energy capacity. Given the small size and nimh chemistry of these batteries, they aren’t going to be able to send too much actual HP to the rear motor unless they really run the ICE and under hood motor/generator to generate the electricity to do so, but that’s a pretty inefficient way to send power to the rear wheels.
