i agree that the “the” is clunky, but tbh they could’ve named it almost anything and i’d still get it. also, i’m all for the 7 companions if they’re going for quality over quantity; forcing the devs to meet an arbitrary number just to keep up the pattern will def make quality suffer. as for only 2 companions, i think they made that choice to give the game more replayability. if you stick with 2 companions the entire time, then chances are there are still 5 you’ll want to try in other playthroughs. at least that’s my guess.

Only two party members > the “the” problem. Also regarding new biomes I think we will travel between regions like countries the first time (with hopefully a bit smaller and fuller maps than inquisition)

If u think about the veilguard the same way you think of the inquisition it should be too hard to swallow. It’s about the veilguard just like inquisition is about the inquisition, not too clunky to me

Honestly I haven't lived the news. It sounds to me like our companions aren't going to have much agency, that is generally impact on their lives traditionally has meant. Between that and Bioware's staff policies despite my desire to do otherwise I am going to wait and see after release. My expectations were so disappointed the last by BG3 I am not going to jump without looking.

I prefer veilguard than dreadwolf. The latter just sounds really edgy and cringey. You are absolutely right that 'the veilguard' as a title sounds a bit awkward. And as for 2 party members rather than 3, it was fine in Mass Effect and i don't mind that much, but it was one of the things that separated DA games from ME. So i would have preferred to have a party of 3 extra characters.

We can't give any orders to companions. So what is the point of having them in a fights. It bleak like Mass Effect Andromeda. You will have to do all the fighting, this is no team fight. You will basically solo this game.

The biggest bummer is that the game only allows for two companions. I thought only having 3 was too little for BG3, but at least then you could play as one of the origin characters so you got to see in real time how people responded to whatever was happening throughout the world. As far as how good the companions will ultimately be is still kind of up in the air. I do wonder if they are going to make all the companions "playersexual" like in BG. Largely just because if they don't I think you're going to end up with everyone having like 2 romance options which would be pretty weak. Although admittedly that's never been dragon ages strong suit compared to Mass Effects.
