Thanks for your recipe , yes I use it .. 1. Finely chopped green leaves added seasoned with chopped garlic , green chillies, onion Top with grated fresh coconut . 2. Leaves are coated underside with paste of gram floor mixed with salt and spices and tamarind ,jaggery . 3 Leaves are layered on top of each alternating with gram paste . Then all are rolled over to make a log . Steamed in a steamer , then cut into slices when cooled and then shallow fried after coating with few sesame seeds . It is an Indian recipe usually with colorama leaves , but I invented this recipe by using my garden harvested large cauliflower leaves . Tasted yummy

Thanks for the recipe. Just a little tip: for green leafy vegetables you clean them before cutting. 1.not to lose some nutrients 2. To clean thoughroughly along the veins. Just incase there's some mad from watering you'll be able to clean well when still whole. Thank you

Thank you for your nice recipe! Your leaves were amazing looking. I just use the green's attached to the ones i buy at the store. I used to throw them away. But many times there are a lot of healthy leaves on the cauliflower so I have been washing them and cutting them up and just roasting along with my other veggies (the flourettes, onions, carrots, potatoes or whatever tossed in olive oil, garlic and seasonings. And they are fine. Taste good. Or when I make pumpkin cauliflower soup, I just include them in and they don't ruin the soup. It's good. But I wanted ti know what people are doing so searched and found you, thank you! And another man who is Asian and he now chops the stem cores and center core up to a small dice and adds it into stir fried rice. He used to just toss them too until his friend served him some once. So people are not necessarily tossing this good thing out anymore. I like your recipe too. And the stock with other added veggies should be great. Who knew they're so healthy! Thank you for sharing your research with us. It's not always available when I buy cauliflower, but now instead of ripping the leaves off I look for a good one with healthy leaves. Oh, I an new to your channel. I don't know how you looked before, but I am sure you were as lovely as you are today. Keep smiling. Thanks, Lisa 😊

Hi, thanks for the recipe. I grew cauliflower and broccoli for first time in my garden. Unfortunately they did not develop heads. I think I may have fertilized with too much nitrogen. They grew big beautiful green leaves, just no heads. So my hard work would not go to waste I read that their greens and stems were edible and was looking for info on how to prepare them when I came across your site and a few others. Thanks so much, I will be cooking mine with garlic, onions, chicken stock and a little salt and pepper,

Well done on your experimental cooking. I'd recommend you add a packet of spinach to the boiled leaves and then cook it in curry sauce, which you should be able to buy from your local grocery store or make it yourself with the Indian ingredients. Then you would have made Saag (spinach) curry. If you fry Paneer (hard cheese) and add it to the Saag it makes a delicious meaty curry. You can add chicken to make it a meat Saag curry. Enjoy!

Ok let me try to be a help here. Even though water from cooking the leaves where saved for soup and the flavour and nutrition will be in tge beautiful soup, now though by boiling the leaves a lot of the nutritional value have been removed. Eating the leaves with the garlic is a good idea but I feel would have been better if you steam or stir fried the beautiful leaves . Another thing though there are many atm showing recipes using cauliflower leaves but Every one is throwing the stalks away. I love to eat the smaller leaves and stalks raw . I've never seen the larger leaves shown here even when I've grown my self they have never grown so tall as if they were spinach, but wash and try snacking on the stalks. If the large stalk are to tough or stringy maybe next time you buy from the shop don't throw away the leaves that cover the cauliflower If you want a healthier snack try them.
@AtHomewithSusana2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the stalks were super tough.

Add it to your baked barbecue meat. It can absorb all the extra fat. The vegetables will taste like chunks of meat when it all cooks long enough. Yum!
@AtHomewithSusanaАй бұрын
Not a bad idea! Thank you!
@hereitis.2587Ай бұрын
@ I’m going to get all involved with it. First I’ll boil the meat for twenty minutes to purge it of toxins and crumbly fat. Then cool in vinegar water and let dry. Then place in a container with my homemade secret sauce and marinate overnight. When ready, heat fat and fry the meat to get a caramel coating. Then place in slow cooker with more secret saucy stuff. Then fry the chunks of cauliflower and broccoli stems have them absorb all the fat. Add to slow cooker. Go to sleep. Yum in the morning for breakfast on a baked sweet potato 🍠 !
