But don't the vast majority of Christians believe that we are living in the last days? According to the bible in the last days there will be a great falling away. In other words apostasy will be huge. It also says that people will be lovers of themselves instead of god. There are a lot of verses painting a really gloomy picture of the future. In fact, the bible is clear that only a select few people will be saved. I say this not because I believe the bible (I don't) but because Christians believe in it. This means that Christians should only expect more people to leave Christianity.

Patrick seems to be a Christian, but he doesn't seem to have the same depth of theological understanding that Brock does. Patrick does mention his faith in interviews, but its much rarer. Part of it is that Purdy jumps at every opportunity to bring up his faith and the other part is the types of questions that Patrick gets asked as opposed the questions that Brock gets. Since Brock has been seen as an underdog he tends to get a lot of "how were you able to do that", "what allows you to deal with doubts", etc. type of questions.

@@joelm4847 My family are big time life long Chiefs fans AND Christians. My mom just pointed out to me recently that the Chiefs Coach Andy Reid, and the owner, Clark Hunt are Mormon. They always talk about God and giving Him glory but they never, EVER mention Jesus Christ or salvation. Mom noticed Mahomes never does either, it's the same sort of speech Reid and Hunt both use, so could be Mahomes is Mormon.

Every time I hear Brock praise the Lord, I am reminded of what a great example he is to his generation. Kids are taught to be agnostic by the world, and this young man with his head spinning success is an example of how God’s Grace can shine brightly on those who are faithful to Him. Purdy has been consistent both on and off the field as a steadfast Christ-follower. Mahomes seems to give lip service on the mic but doesn’t seem consistent behind the scenes. He curses like a sailor on the field, sidelines and at home. That’s a red flag IMO. That being said, I certainly hope that he continues his journey towards being a committed follower of Christ.

Very true brother!! I’m a Catholic and I’ve always believed in Jesus but there was something chilling in a good way hearing these two talk about him. Same with the MVP Lamar Jackson when he talked about Jesus when he won his award. There’s something beautiful and peaceful about it =)

Absolutely fantastic! I love the fact that this is something the NFL can’t hide! Talent is something given by GOD! Albert Pujols, similarly, is someone who seems to have a strong faith in Christ and similarly, was chosen very late in the draft. I think he was drafted in the 13th round with hundreds of players chosen before him and when he finally was picked he was told that he’d never play in the major leagues.

When I watched Mahomes in Netflix's "Quarterback", it seemed very much like he used his faith more like a good luck charm than anything. Obviously, I truly hope I am wrong. I was very encouraged by him quoting the verse from Acts in the clips shown here. I'm sure my faith would be in much worse shape than him if my bank account looked like his.

When has mahomes ever mention Jesus Christ he says some pretty off the wall things regarding God but never mentions Jesus . I’m not convinced that dudes a Christian at all because Jesus said if you deny me before men I’ll deny you before the Father. He at best avoids saying his name to people .
