Why do some people in the comments mistakenly think that a team starting a back up QB due to injury to their number one starter or due to game play strategy (like sitting your starters before going to the playoffs if you can ) is the same thing as being a team's number one starting QB? Matt Flynn, for example, played when Aaron Rodger's broke his collarbone but Aaron Rodgers was always the number one QB. So there's a huge difference between having to start a back up QB for a few games and the team's number one starting QB. It's very rare that a Brett Favre or Tom Brady will come along to step in for an injured number one QB and end up permanently taking his place.
@zor20145 күн бұрын
Exactly bro. I’ve had to mention this so many times
@tedl271119 сағат бұрын
Well with Brett Favre starting so many continuous games. We consider even backups starting a different qb starting a game. Here in Packerland we follow the wording of the phrase starting qb. And that makes a few more than 3. Sure they were just fill ins but we have to count every starter possible
@mattdeaver685015 сағат бұрын
Absolutely. But when you say the Browns have had 30 different qbs over that time period, you're counting every single qb that started a game, including due to injury. Why are you only counting those starts when the Browns have them?
@Heavyhitter153212 күн бұрын
Aaron Rodgers in Brett favre have only three super bowl appearances. Brett favre had two back-to-back 96 and 97. He won in 96 lost in 1997 to the broncos who won back-to-back championships in 97 and 98

@flickfellas942413 күн бұрын
Might be a nitpick but the packers hade Brett Favre almost immediately start because the starting qb got injured and the rest is history. In order to start the cycle of developing QBs like packers you need to have an elite QB first. Jordan Love wouldn’t be who he is now if he was a backup to Jameson Winston first 3 years. No dis on Jordan but learning under someone like Aaron Rodgers is objectively better than learning under Jameson Winston. So it won’t have the same effect on a teams like browns if they did decide to do the same to their next QB. a team like Buffalo however has a chance to do it if they draft a QB in a few years.
@zor201413 күн бұрын
Great point, they took what they had and created a system to keep improving. The patriots had Brady but didn’t capitalize on that
@flickfellas942412 күн бұрын

This is one of the biggest mis leading narratives, Jordan love statistically only had 5 bad games in 2023-2024, week 4-8 and the giants game, he was elite otherwise, and this year he is p,saying through injury after injury, and he’s still leading the team to a 7-3 record, and he looked much better against Chicago’s elite defense after healing a bit
@Catbeans9912 күн бұрын
@ leading the team? He missed 2 or those wins. That was Eillis, not Love. 3 of the games he has won are by 3 points or less after they have to scramble or get lucky after he gives up points to the other team. He has had 2 decent games this season. And stop with the bullshit injury excuse, he says he’s good to play, so his poor performance is on him. There is nothing misleading. He is playing poorly.
@moistgilf130812 күн бұрын
Have you ever heard of Brett Farve. He actually holds the record for most INT's thrown
@Catbeans9912 күн бұрын
@ I can’t take much more of this smooth brained narrative. I watched every game. Favre was a QB who never missed a game, and for most of his career played with a subpar defense and rarely had a running game outside of Green. Most of his ints would come in the final moments of a game trying to come back from a 2-3 score deficit. Not on the opening drive or while in the lead giving the opposing team the lead and momentum. Gtfo with this bullshit.

I like how the greatest dichotomy of QB play is straight with Green Bay. Favre threw a billion INT's and Rodgers threw basically none. Yet both basically had the same success. INT's are overrated.
@aaronseitz6783Күн бұрын
At least there’s another person that agrees INT’s are overrated. Yeah Favre holds the INT rec of 336 but divide that by his 10,169 pass attempts you’ll get 3.3% chance of interception Peyton manning threw almost 100 less INT’s and his 256 divide by 9,380 gives a 2.6% of interception So yes you make a great point INTs are overrated especially when you compare the numbers of Rodger’s vs Brady there dam near identical when Brady has thrown 100 more INTs
@robertvaughn7796Күн бұрын

Aaron rodgers is overrated. I’ve been saying it for years. If you put Aaron Rodgers from 2010-2015 on the lions, they would’ve been the worst team in the nfl and no one would remember him. Imagine needing a top 5 offense and defense to lose in the playoffs like 7 times. Truly he was the MVP. If Matthew stafford went to the packers in 2009 they’d have won at least 4 Super Bowls

Holmgren is the guy that molded favre. Thats the consistency im talking about. From 1992 to 1998, this is the period where favre won his three mvps. Most teams ain’t keepin a coach that long to build a player. Holmgren Built him up from 1992 to winning 3 mvps. Same can be said about rodgers after mike sherman got got fired. They remained with mccarthy after favre exit to be a consistent head coach for rodgers. I dont know it all tho bro. My point was consistent coaching to develop the quarterback not saying that teams dont go through coaching changes. But its very important for rookie qbs to have a solid foundation from one coach.
