It’s 2024 and The Nicholas Brothers are STILL at the top of the dance list! Even with the industry’s feeble attempt to hold them back. Their talent is still unmatched!! They were on the god level of their craft!!

What "some" people don't understand and can't seem to fathom is the fact that you can't learn this in a lil dance class. It is intrinsic natural ability.

Yes. Most very talented people I think probably start off with much less natural ability than these two gentlemen and then would have to work really hard to improve. These two would have had to have worked hard, of course, but their ability really was God given.

I met Harold years later at of all places, a golf course in the Bronx. As an old movie fan, I actually recognized him and when I asked if he was who I thought he was he was both surprised and pleased! Looking back, it was shortly before he ended up passing away but a real kick getting to meet this incredible legend.

This is so amazing! I’m 38 and my daughter is 14. I just made her watch....you need to know your black history and these guys were truly amazing! Very gifted, talented, humbled and a great example of just black love black support. No one fighting for the spot light or trying to be the best. I loved when Harold the baby bro, said it hurt him when the oldest couldn’t dance or move the same due to the arthritis. He said because dancing was “his” thing.... Harold knew he was good but he also recognized that it was his brothers passion first and he learned from him.

I completely understand because I was born with a clubbed foot and took tap dancing as a form of physical therapy when my therapist retired me at 10. I stopped tap dancing when I graduated from high school at 19 and went away to college. I'm 46 now and started developing early arthritis at 40 (when I got my first retail job, to boot!). I know I will never tap dance again, not that I could even dance as good as the Nicholas Brothers, but , like everyone else, I admire them immensely, especially their "rubber legs" style of dancing.

If you watch the Nicolas Brothers then go watch Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly, you'll see why Hollywood could not and would not dare give them as much opportunity. They danced rings around their competition. Astaire and Kelly were no match and they knew it. They had great respect, admiration, and high esteem for the brothers. You noticed Astaire and Kelly. branched off into other genres of dance....hence ballroom, ballet, modern. They knew their tap dance skills could not measure up and they had to have a backup which worked out well.

The Nicholas Brothers were in their own League among the top entertainers of their time. They are an enduring legend based upon phenomenal talent and exceptional performances despite not given the full opportunities, recognition, or accolades of others. However, they were loved by the people who saw them perform, just as Louis Armstrong who was also discriminated against, but was also loved by the people. My father was a professional tap dancer in the late 40s and 50s, and often talked of the Nicholas Brothers who I watched. When I was just a young, white, teenage kid in New Jersey that did not have one black family living in my entire town of about 26,000, I would have been honored to roll out the red carpet and invite them to dinner or to stay at our home in honor of their greatness in talent and for making millions of people, like me, very happy, due to their fabulous performances. A great and worthy Documentary.

They were paving the way ... setting the bar ... for others [to] follow. ****************************** It is really sad, and a shame before God, that the power structure of the time, held them back. They could not ... would not ... tolerate more than one great black talent -- Sammy Davis, Jr. That mindset, in many ways, assists to this day.

And to see them at the end, dancing before their projected younger images! This would be a good "Nicholas Brothers 101" for anyone who asks the unfortunate question, "Who were The Nicholas Brothers?" Any other Nicholas Brothers postings would be greatly welcomed in this quarter. Thanks again!

The racism in America is Sickening it is so heartbreaking to know these amazing black artist suffered so. My parents were a nightclub act that toured Europe also and had the privilege to be performing in the same night club as the Nicholas Brothers. They got to meet them and they had dinner with them. My father loved them. He said they were the greatest of all time as we can clearly see and her they had to suffer so and look at their spirit so beautiful and positive. Such grace and class. I get sick when I hear white people say that racism doesn’t exist even today when we see no knock warrants and Innocent Black people profiles and harassed entering their own apartment building. Can’t even go for a damn jog without being chased down and killed. We need to work as a country and as a people to change laws and protects our black and brown brothers and sisters from having these experiences. We need to do better.
