Oohh Taiwan, I remember that it felt like going to Japan, I was particularly amazed with one (somekinda) train station there, it looked like a scene from vintage Japan with almost all wood buildings and fallen leaves. And you've got to try their oden and taiwanese pork sausage too! I think they can be bought in 7-11 and street stalls. And when you visit Sun Moon Lake, you have to try their tea egg, I regretted only buying one. Don't forget to also try their chicken cutlet street food and their pineapple cake. Wish you safe and wonderful journeys ahead from Indonesia!

As a Taiwanese, I have never heard of so-called "pay toilets" in Taiwan! Toilets in Taiwan are all free. Many convenience stores, such as 7-11, etc., have free toilets! Wow! The street snacks you passed by are the street snacks that play an important role in Taiwanese cuisine! The quality of Taiwanese snacks is very good! The hygiene of the ingredients and other ingredients are of a very good standard! For example: rice sausage buns Pork sausage, large chicken steak, etc. are all classics! What a shame! If you’re looking for delicious food in Taiwan, it’s a good idea to look for restaurants with queues! Of course! There are also many restaurants that don’t necessarily have queues, but are still delicious! In addition, Taiwan’s food ranges from affordable to mid-priced to high-priced to top-tier prices! But it’s really all delicious food! The ingredients and quality of Taiwan’s affordable food are usually the same as those of high-priced restaurants in Korea, Japan, or advanced Western countries! This is one of the reasons why Taiwan’s food is famous! You don’t need to spend a lot of money to eat delicious food in Taiwan! I have lived for more than thirty years and still haven’t finished eating Taiwan’s delicacies!

You don’t really negotiate prices in Taiwan. Especially in Taipei. (Some places you may, but most places no). I would recommend to google for good places to eat. Taiwan is probably the food capital of the world, I am saying this because it’s got the most Japanese food out side of Japan, and better Chinese cuisines than China, and all kinds of food from Asia and Western/Europe. A small island packed with LOTS of food options.

About McDonald’s in Taiwan. They are best branches of the world. I’ve heard from Americans that burgers and French fries from Taiwan MD taste better than those from US MD. Besides, they offer some Taiwan limited items such as spicy friend chicken, taro pie and red bean pie. It also happened in KFC, they sell good quality egg tarts here. If you would stay in Taiwan longer than one month, you can give a chance. As a Taiwanese I eat MD roughly once a month. MD actually influenced Taiwan restaurants a lot. We pay more attention to dining atmosphere and food safety after having experience eating MD.

In Taiwan, just like in the UK, the prices of merchandise sold in stores are fixed and it is considered bad form to haggle. You wouldn’t go to a Marks & Spencer and expect a sales clerk to give you a “special discount”, would you? Even if a sales is willing to give you a price cut, s/he is most likely not authorized to do so. If you’re not satisfied with the price, just walk away. They’ll understand and leave you alone.

Not exactly. depends on what kind of store you go. If it is a chain store like adidas they usally follow their own price policy. But some other stores with their own brand or local store they still could give u discount if u ask and they are willing to.

It appears that you may have taken the wrong direction at DONKI. The usual route at Donki involves starting on the 3rd floor and descending to each floor, which is why they've blocked off the passage from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor. By the way, in Taiwan, DONKI tends to mark up their prices significantly, making it more of a luxury store for Japanese imported goods, unlike the discount store it is in Japan.
@JayandKarolina Жыл бұрын
We have entered through the ground floor so it made sense to just go up the floors 😂 The prices were not super cheap for us but they weren’t expensive either!
@MaximSupernov Жыл бұрын
@JayeshChhaya I understand it might be a bit confusing. Yes, the entrance is on the ground floor (1st floor in Taiwan). The typical path is to take the escalator from the ground floor to the 3rd floor and then proceed by descending. This type of directional design is also commonly seen in many hypermarket stores.
