RIP Ken Page, voice of Oogie Boogie. He shall be missed. This is such a masterpiece! The stop motion, especially for the time is phenomenal, Jack's such a compelling complex protagonist, the culture clash of these different holiday is fun to see, and the songs are mostly bangers.

The Nightmare Before Christmas was owned by Touchstone Pictures, a subsidiary of Walt Disney. Disney Pictures owned the movie since its 3D reissue.

What I like about this movie being a musical is that it isn't like other ones. Usually after a song, the movies would give you like ten minutes of the characters talking over the meaning of the song. This movie- as soon as the song is over they go straight to the next scene without rambling on about the meaning

Nightmare before Christmas was originally advertised as a Tim Burton film but it was actually directed by Henry Selick, the same person who directed and written Coraline and other stop-motion films. Tim Burton only came up with the concept. He didn’t do the screenplay. It’s based a poem he wrote during the 80s. He was barely involved in the production of the film.

I seen this movie once. Just once. And it was when I was 3, 4 or 5. I liked it, but the ending when Jack fights Oogie Boogie to save Sally and Santa and Oogie gets unraveled and the bugs fall into the molten goop bothered me😖Also to this day, the song ‘This Is Halloween’ forever remains in my heart and head as a bop of a song😊
