I volunteer with a chihuahua rescue here in NC. We’ve assisted both the Humane Society and the ASPCA busting back yard puppy mills...all were horrifying. We, along with other breeds rescues, assisted the ASPCA with a hoarder. She had 40 dogs under her roof in various stages of illness, disease, all 40 dogs had medical problems, a couple of the dogs were feral. We don’t look as grody as those 2, never have. Don’t support puppy mills, back yard breeders, hoarders. “Adopt, don’t shop!”

I had neighbors who put their little dog outside in a very cold winter night. I was in my kitchen and heard him crying. I opened the door and wrapped him in my coat, carrying him upstairs. The neighbor said "He wasn't out that long"! In the summer, they put him outside with no water. When I moved, I called animal control to ask them to keep an eye on the dog. He sure was cute. I brought him water and told animal control that he had no water and they said he should have a dog house too.

I would always bring her food and give her attention and I even kidnapped her and took her in the house and the neighbors never even knew or they just didn’t give a damn, I think it was both though actually. I named her sweetie pie she was Doberman/pit bull mix.

@@cherylthrasher3658 Okey I don't know what people do with their rottweilers in the usa but I have had a rottweilers my whole life and there is one very important thing to realise with dogs, the owners make the dogs personality. Of course a dog has a personality but constant aggression isn't normal. Rottweilers personality are very close to that of a lab, except they protect but normally don't attack. people can get in to the property of a rottweiler they don't let you out ,not with direct aggression but mostly they will scare you. My rottweilers have always been calm and under control and have never attacked anyone or anything. The owner makes the dog and if dogs are aggressive without reason and can't be controlled there needs to be something done but there should also be looked at the owner, many people keep aggressive breeds for status, it's an animal not a purse. owners who keep going in to the wrong and who's dogs, doesn't matter what breed, needs to be corrected and punished. Don't stop getting certain breeds of dogs but know what you are getting in too. please do research before getting any pet and adopt don't shop. Adoption dogs are great pets who are often older and calmer with a lot of help from the shelter people when you need it.

I have ZERO sympathy for those two women with all the dogs! What in the hell ever made them think that it's alright to pack that many large and small dogs into cages far too small for them, and crapping all over the yard in a densely packed suburb? They're completely delusional! The landlord should have worked together with the neighbors as an alliance to get them out. Trying to run him over with cars is not a good tactic. I understand they were frustrated and fed up with the whole situation, and frankly, who wouldn't be? But that's not a good way to solve the problem. Surveillance cameras with sound would have gone a long way into showing the council just what is really going on. Dog crap is one of the worst smelling kinds of feces out there! With all the urine soaked into the ground, the grass is never going to be the same either. They completely trashed that place! They should also be sued for damages to the yard and house.

From what I have seen from watching many different shows like this from the UK the so called council is as useless as balls on a priest. Here in the US damaging private property is a criminal offense and you don't have to wait for moths and years to get something done about. You call the police and they'll arrest the offender. The moral of the dog lady story is to get everything in writing. They practically ruined that property and treated those dogs cruelly by confining them the way they did. At the same time, the landlord should have limited the number of dogs in the lease and should have restricted the number of dogs.

I once called one of the outfits to check out a guy with calves loaded in a shed that got a disease and started dying. They did nothing and this is in the U.S. They also dump puppies out in rural are and kittens The older dogs are running out in a road and people drive fast and run them over since it happens so much and no one can do anything about it. And if they check the animals they are given a whole week to clear out the sick animals and clean up. Sick cows and horses.

I am an animal lover. However those two had too many dogs. Who keeps so many dogs that even the ones indoors have to be kept in cages? These two should be living somewhere that there are not neighbors surrounding them. It isn't a healthy or pleasant situation to have that many dogs crowded together. If they lived somewhere on a large piece of land, that might work out better. They love their dogs but they don't seem able to provide the best living situation for that many dogs. Those kennels look dark and depressing.

Watch some of these Nightmare Next Door shows. People have evidence and go to the police and rarely is anything done. People in the UK are raising dogs in residential areas, cutting and burning wood in the backyard, and more. They'd never get away with that stuff in the USA. The rights of the neighbors to peace and quiet, safety, and more are being violated.

You can't live in a city and demand all the people around you to be silent. But there is one thing you must realize. People here live really close to each other. Unlike America, our space is limited. So you are going to notice the neighbor sawing a plank and you are going to hear his parakeet. And this is no problem, because people accept the neighbors and their dealings. But once they start hating on each other... Then they suddenly have a lot to complain about. And it's always the same things... They slam the door to loud, their garden is a mess, their tree is too high, their dogs bark too often, they park their car to close to their front door, he barbecues too often... but there is no actual law breaking here... It are just two people that annoy the shit out of each other.

As someone who works in vet med, I can tell you the people who claim their pets are their lives are the worst. They are usually always multiple pet owners, their pets are in terrible shape and they live in a complete delusional world. The best pet owners are those that live a balanced life with their animals. These owners is particular are hoarders and they should be heavily fined and restricted from even having animals. The landlord should have evicted them.

Only one of which I rescued when my daughter walked into her new townhouse to find several feral cats & one in labor giving birth. He's 8. I've had Gandalf since the day he was born. Ophelia's mother, Ghost, gave birth to her kittens in my daughter's garage. Her mother had feline herpes which leads to major respiratory issues in cats. She had to have an eye removed as a kitten because there was so much fluid build up in her tiny head her eye started popping out. They're vaccinated. Regularly vet checked. Indoor only. Have collars with name tags in case they accidentally get out. Get flea meds monthly. Are spoiled rotten. Neutered, obviously. Claws intact but they never use them. Sleep beside me every night & meow their heads off to get the last pet when they know I'm about to walk out the door to go to work. 😂 Oh, did I mention they're leash trained & get regular outdoor walks?

Why do owners not take the time to train their animals. I always trained mine that barking if a worm farts is not aloud. Meaning " don't bark about anything and everything." All I had to do was say " NO" and then silence.

The exception of course, would be rescue sites that save dogs from puppy/kitty mills and do their best to train and rehome them. Those animals are spayed/neutered given shots and licenses before they are rehomed. Too bad, they're beautiful animals.

Why are there no laws regarding bad tenants like this in England? Why does it take YEARS to have someone evicted when there's plenty of video and audio evidence of what is going on? And is there no bylaw on how many dogs a person can house in a residential neighborhood? Those dogs were untrained and very badly mannered, barking constantly and all through the night. They completely ruined the back yard and even if the indoor dogs were going outside for their bathroom breaks, there would still be a horrible odor in the house just from having so many dogs cramped into such a small space. These women are animal hoarders. Although they are cleaner and tidier than what we imagine when we think of hoarders, they are indeed hoarding dogs. If allowed to live there permanently, I'm sure that dog crowd would have grown substantially. If I lived there I would make their lives such a living hell that they would want to leave and move away.

I managed a 46 unit apartment complex for a few years; we did not allow pets and during the time I was manager, three tenants snuck dogs into their units. I caught them all at different times, walking the dogs and going back into their apartments. They were given 14-day eviction notices, and there's no court that's going to rescind that notice. They broke their lease, period. Get out!

Where I live in the burbs of Pittsburgh, Pa, in order to have four dogs in one dwelling, you have to get a kennel license which is actually really hard to acquire. It’s supposed to help prevent situations like this and puppy mills.

I actually have some friends that live in a really nice mountain neighborhood and a hound rescuer bought a property right on their street. He’s amazing for what he does to help those dogs and get them vetted and adopted into loving homes, but he shows no concern at all for his neighbors. It’s always noisy and always stinks. If people want to own lots of animals, they should have to have a property of a certain size with the building in the middle so there aren’t neighbors anywhere near them. Breeders just need to stop period. And rescues/sanctuaries are great (if they are real) but they HAVE to respect others. They may be ok with the sounds and smells, but others are not. Another point is that as a rescuer/sanctuary, you need donations and public support. So you need a good public image. And if everyone in your area hates you for making their personal sanctuaries (their homes) hell to live in, then that just leads to less support for your animals! So be a good neighbor and treat other people with respect. I think laws need to be much stricter and heavily enforced. If you punish people harshly enough for doing stupid, selfish crap, they’ll stop.
