This idiot system of justice in the UK, is under The commonwealth system of other European countries. The system of justice is weak and no match to that of the United States, where the laws are more strict and server, especially in capital punishment cases.( Murder and other high profile crimes)

A mass murderer released after 15 years?... that is severe negligence and incompetence of the UK justice system right there. How dare they put the public in danger from this maniac! Not only did they release a highly dangerous man, but they actually lost track of him and didn't even know that he had a name change. I feel so sorry for the surviving victim Jill and for the Smith family who were also victims. They'll probably need therapy for a while to try and deal with the PTSD caused by him. smh.

Dude was probably having auditory hallucinations and thought it was coming from the neighbors. And probably heard voices telling him to go kill them to shut them up. Mentally ill or not, people who commit one murder, much less five, should never be released back into society. I hope the doctors who released him from Broadmoor know what he did, and almost did, to this family. What I really want to know is: why was he not closely monitored after his release?? When police are called to intervene in a dispute, they should do quick background checks on the parties involved to see what they’re dealing with. Perhaps if they had done a bit of searching, they would have known who this man was the first time he called the police. They could have saved this family a year of torment by recognizing this man and the possibility of a repeat massacre. If I were the family, I’d be tempted to sue the police!!

I suspect prejudice plays a role. Barry/Harry lived with his parents at the first time, I suppose they were somewhat elderly so when he started to harass the first family the police may have realised the neighbours was not noisy but thought that Barry/Harry complained on behalf of grumpy elderly people (older people frequently suffer from pains etc which makes them more sensitive to things that most people don't even notice). When the harassment of the other family started Harry was elderly himself, and police that responded to call of disturbances were not aware of his background. They seem to realise that it was BS complaints at least after a while, maybe even from the very first start at the very first call when they met a family who just watched television at normal soundlevel, but shrug it off as a case of old Mr Crankypant searching faults with someone else when he can't sleep for his aching joints. Does anyone know whether police or other public officers can, or even have an obligation, to report to any instance if they come across people that appear as there's a cognitive vacancy of some kind? And the wife who responded "no" to the question as to whether Harry had mental issues, was she also in the dark about his background? How awful if that is the case.

I'm an old guy myself but we get away with a lot. If you act a little cuckoo people say, "oh, he's an old man and he's a bit eccentric." So there's a lot of things we are able to do because people kind of blow us off as any threat at all. But just as there are criminals in younger age brackets there's also old criminals, too. In fact, I think that is getting to be quite a problem for jails and prisons that have to take care of people who are in wheelchairs and such and would be considered geriatric patients under normal circumstances.

I've had a pair of really bad neighbors as well that I had to wear ear plugs for two years and the more I knocked on these two single moms door the worst it was for my son and I. The police came many time only to tell me that there was nothing they could do and that they couldn't forse these two moment to become productive members of society! I felt like I was loosing my mind! I cant even begin to possibly imagine what these poor people went through. I'm so deeply and so sincerely sorry for the woman loosing her family! Also for the other family that were seconds away from loosing their lives. I just really don't understand though how this phyco path slipped through the cracks and into society without the public or police being aware of this man's where abouts! I'm sure it's mandatory now that the police have to be told where these people are. Just how on Earth did this sick, sick, sick man manage to get out of prison after killing "5" people? I know for certain that here in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 that this man would never see the light of a day ever again! He would have been sentenced to life imprisonment! With zero chance of parole! I'm sorry to both families that ultimately will also serve a life sentence but in a different way but none the less they are severely scared for life! Please, May all the God's in heaven Bless both of these families, with a little peace, and a little healing each and every day. 🙏

The duplex was in an L shape so my house basically faced theirs. I never would react to them. I had roped off my yard after I seeded to keep kids from walking on the grass. A school was nearby. The neighbors guests backed up onto my lawn and they’d peel out flinging mud onto the front of my house. As soon as my lease was up I had to move. It used to be really hard even to rent a place. My boyfriend and I would have to rent 2 bedroom apartments and spend more money to rent as roommates. Places wouldn’t rent 1 bedroom units to us. So I get what these people are going through and how it can happen unprovoked.
