I totally agree with you. What an elegant, composed, articulate lady. You can feel the love for her daughters as she talks about them. There's no doubt that Avis is still grieving and I wish that I could just reach my arms through the screen to hug her. However, she has turned her grief into something so precious and positive. Her daughters will be watching over her with pride. The fact that she wrote a book to help others and that she has taken on voluntary work and is helping the community in spite of her grief is testament to her beautiful character. May God bless and protect Avis. RIP to her gorgeous daughters and RIP to the poor Father who lost his life at the hands of these two evil monsters too. May God bless and protect his family too.

@BS-dq1kz4 жыл бұрын
Amber Derion Its very difficult for a mother to even approach and angry son about his issues. They usually lash out at the mother as well. My own brother has major anger issues and when my mom told him he couldn’t hit women, he cursed her and never spoke to her again. That was 8.5 years ago. He called me not long after he and mom got into that argument and I said to him,”Bub, I love you and you can always talk to me but mom was right, you can’t hit women and I can’t put up with you cussing our mother.” That’s all it took and he cussed me too and never spoke to me again either. There’s no reasoning with these types of men who are so angry. My brother has tried his best to keep us from his two children. Thankfully, one of the mothers allows us to see his daughter anyhow. My niece has had cancer twice and suffered lots. I’m so glad her mom lets us see her. She’s here at my house now actually. Drives my brother crazy. The other mom let us see my nephew for awhile but she moved, remarried and she is a different kind of person and we don’t really see him. I love him and wish I could. My brother never sees him either. Anyhow, my brother is an abusive hateful man because my father is. We grew up in a home with lots of violence. My sweet mom got away as fast as she could and never looked back! The damage was already done though and my brother is so much like my dad.

Karen Gordon I’m sorry you feel that way but as a woman that never really felt like I was loved by my own mother even tho I’m her only daughter, I endured a lot emotional abuse and physical but the emotional abuse was worse because i find it hard to cope in life and around people, I’m depressed and suffer from anxiety, I never did anything that a normal daughter didn’t do, I’ve never once talked backed, I tried to do everything she told me but it was never good enough, I feel like daughters are special still, not all will turn out great yea but I’d rather have daughters and make them feel special regardless

@marg42294 жыл бұрын
@@yoo_hoo_anyone_there I know exactly what you are saying. I also did everything for my children (girl and boy) and was firm but fair as a parent. My daughter left home soon after she graduated school although I made it clear she was welcome to live at home for free so she could save money for her future. Nope - left so quickly the door didn't even hit her in the butt on the way out. Whenever she decided to have a hissy fit when I visited her in her new place, she would start with accusations of how I apparently wronged her. Fortunately I had proof that she was delusional but she never acknowledged that I was right and I knew it would be useless to get her to think about it clearly. My son sided with me telling his sister that he was there too and she was imagining things! I researched a bit about how memory works because I was trying to understand how her attitude came about. After time, we forget some bits in an incident. Every time we try to recall that time, we fill in some extras to make the story make more sense to us. The more you try to recall, the more the story can change. Therefore the memory becomes warped with untruths, but they become adopted as fact. One example was that she got some educational funding (like a scholarship) and the cheques were sent to me. I deposited them in my account and sent my personal cheque to her in the same amount so it was easier for her to cash. Years later she accused me of keeping her scholarship money. Out come my bank statements that show the deposits and my cheques to her with her endorsements on the back. No apology, just silence. We pretend to be comfortable with each other over the phone or the occasional email, but it will be difficult for me to ever say that parenting is easy and is often a thankless job. I was naive enough to think that if I gave my children everything they needed, some of what they wanted, and spent a lot of time with them in reading, playing, travel experiences, and teaching them many things they needed to know as an adult, that my kids would be thankful. Although we have had a few times where they can both spend an evening remembering the good times (when we visit every few years), my daughter will dwell on one or two things where she feels I failed as a parent. All we can do is our best, but it can be devastating when a warped memory sneaks into her mind. So don't beat yourself up over doing the best job you could. The only thing I regret is that she has two sweet sons and not one drama princess daughter! That is probably the only way she would ever understand about how much of a challenge parenting can be.
