I fell in love with street photography when I bought the Fujifilm X-T30. But that is a relatively expensive Camera, so in this video I show you two cheap cameras that I consider the most fun cameras I own. The Nikon D2X and the Fujifilm X-T1. Both of these are very affordable cameras and super fun to use. In combination with the Fuji X-T1 I use the XC 35mm F2. Despite the fuji xt1 having weather sealing, this lens doesn't have it, just like the Fujifilm X-T20, X-T10, X-E3, X-E4 and most X100 cameras. That is why I carried an umbrella for the entire day. If you want weather sealing for street photography in all conditions take a look at the Fuji X100V, X-T1, X-T2, X-T3, X-T4, X-T5, X-H1 and the Fuji X-Pro 3. The Nikon D2X also doesn't have weather sealing yet but later models like the Nikon D3, Nikon D3X, and Nikon D4 have it.

The cool thing about old pro cameras is that the quality of post-production in say Lightroom makes many major limitations seem less problematic. As long as the camera is working within its useable range of operation the files it writes should be fine in post. You’ve inspired me to revisit old equipment.

I picked up a barely used(9000) clicks D2Xs on ebay in 2017 for £50,it is complete and has now taken over 20000.I have more modern cameras,but this still ends up round me neck when the suns shining,I also have the D300 which is also an amazing camera.

I own a D2X and it was the first digital DSLR I bought when I started photography as a hobby. I took some very nice portraits with it and it was fun to use. Not the best camera for low light but still takes great images if your outdoors or have a speed light. Good beginner camera if your trying to learn..

The D2X does have weather sealing, alongside a titanium alloy body. I still have my D2Xs with a Katz-Eye split prism. If you shoot with the 17-55 f/2.8 the full combination is weather-sealed. Or with the 70-200 f/2.8. The skin tones in Mode 1 are really awesome!

Yeah I wasn't too worried about the body itself, but the lens isn't weather sealed and with the combination I was afraid water would get to the sensor through the mount. But it held up well and got soaked despite my umbrella so I guess I didn't have to be worried haha

I remember your previous video on a D2x - is this the same camera. I bought one as soon as it was released, and I bought a D3 when it came out as well. I let my brother use them, which he never did, so I got them back from him. The D2x just sits, but I did use the D3 for a while. Amazing camera, almost too heavy, but all the controls are accessible. I especially like your videos - they are fascinating to watch. A few months ago, I watched several of them, and subscribed. The thing you are best at, is your commentary, that you record as you are taking photos. It's nice to know/hear what you were thinking at the time. Watching your snow/winter videos almost made me miss winters up north, where I used to live. Now I'm in Florida, where it's almost always hot. Any plans to ever do a "live chat", so we could call in and discuss things with you? Thanks again!!!!!!

First time seeing your videos, and for some reason I spotted something that I might've made in this particular video. From 3:30 ; the camera surveillance unit behind the fence that says "Kooi(Security) 247kooi.com" has a galvanized, steel-frame that I made literal thousands of while working for the outsourced engineering/construction firm that Kooi Security uses for those constructions. This was in the Netherlands, Friesland to be specific. Aside from that; great video, this made me put the D2x on the want-list next to the D3 (and many other camera's) , especially since my latest camera is a D700 and I'm slowly building a nice F-mount lens collection next to my EF kit. You've got yourself another subscriber!

I have several cameras and some that are years newer, but I probably use the D2Xs I have more than any other camera. One nice advantage of the D2x and D2Xs is that you can use the Nikon TC-16a teleconverter with it without modification and it gives you the last bit of autofocus for good prime lenses from the 70's and 80's. My favorite is using it with the Nikkor 400mm f/3.5

had 1 for few years and it s never let me down. Feel pro , precise, fast and plenty of settings easy to adjust on the go, i was impressed with the D2X . The battery was good enough for 2 memory card that i would fill in one afternoon taking pictures of Motocross. The auto focus was a bit slow for the action, but within basic observations and places, i would calculate the depht of field and speed for accurate results. The colors were fine and better with a bit of processing. Big, heavy, noisy and pro look make this camera, The Best crop sensor body you can have for money. Many camera feels like plastic and get you lost in the endless menus, the D2X is what you asking it to do. The Iso is acceptable till 800, after it s a bit grainy, i would call that Art pictures. I never used 11 frames per second on crop sensor due to the noisy and repetive manual action that may damaged the shutter. Do i miss it...Yes and no, it s a brick to carry, noisy and lack live view or articulated screen. but it s a pro body , CLICK CLICK CLICK forever...

Ich habe auch noch eine D2x und eine D2xs. Die Farben sind wirklich toll. Es gab 2007 für den Nachfolger D3 sogar extra ein PictureControl Style im Look der D2. Auf meiner Z8 habe ich ebenfalls einen PictureControl Style installiert, der die D2 Farben simuliert. Am schönsten ist aber immernoch das Original.

I've been trying out some of the older Nikon pro bodies. All I'll say is the D2X and D2XS are a massive upgrade from the D2H. The D2H is still capable but man the D2X and D2Xs are way more pleasing to shoot with. Also the Tamron 70-200 G2 kicks ass with the D2XS

Hi, nice and entertaining video about a still pretty capable camera (if you take some time to learn how to use it properly and go around its limitations, quite hard highlights clipping being the most notable to me), I love its color rendition especially for portraits it has something of a “CCD vibe” for me, definitely different from what you get from modern sensors straight out of camera. Nice pics too, Aachen looks indeed to have a pretty nice city center :) Keep up the good work!

Hey bro, I loved your shots. Can you help me by suggesting a camera? I love photography and videography, but earlier I didn't have much time. Now, I will be joining university in Germany and will be traveling too. So, I need a camera that can handle both photo and video under 500 euros in the used market. I love Fujifilm, but they might be out of my budget, I guess. Which camera would you suggest to me, also with a lens? I would really appreciate your help.

Photo and video could be a bit tough under 500€, I would take a look at the Sony A7 (I have a video about that on my channel as well), or the A7II maybe but that might be out of the budget, the a6000 is also worth looking at if you want a more compact camera. You could also consider some of the micro-four-thirds cameras from Olympus, but I don't really have any experience with those.

The older Lumx GH models quite cheap and great when your focus is more on video or the maybe a Lumix G80 should be well within your budget. For m43 lenses the 2nd hand market is great.
