Got my RLT 9 Steel earlier this summer and I LOVE it. Such a fun bike to ride!

@@NinerBikesOfficialHi! Great video! I really liked this model. Help me choose the frame. I have a height of 186 centimeters, the inner length of the leg is 87 centimeters. What is the right frame for me 56 or 59? There is no way to try on frames
@NinerBikesOfficial Жыл бұрын
@@Atlantis109 thanks for your interest in our RLT Steel. Based on your measurements you would likely need a 59cm frame. Check out the geo chart on our website. www.ninerbikes.eu/products/rlt-9-steel/

i have aluminum and carbon frame gravelbike. and now want to build a steel frame GB for more peace of mind and for longer bikepacking trip. BUt what bothers me is, if im going to build another bike because i want a steel bike, would it be strange if it has a carbon fork?.... if im building it with a carbon fork, should i be good to just stay with my carbon gravelbike?

frame weight?

Frame, fork, headset, and both axles is 7.25lbs. Frame, rear axle and headset is 6.00lbs. We hope this helps!

Mhmm it seems a lot for such a premium frame. Normally steel frame only should be under 2kgs.

Is there a bottle cage mount under the down tube?

Hey Thomas, thanks for the note! Yes, there is an additional bottle cage mount under the down-tube. We hope this helps! Cheers!

Does it come with frame saver, or similar, applied to the inside of the tubes?
@NinerBikesOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Hi Spencer, thank you for the message! During the painting process, there is an anti-corrosive applied to the inside of the frame for protection. However, if you live in a wetter part of the country or world, it never hurts to apply frame saver for even more protection.

Inside the nine, Air 9 when?

Something about your intro, 700x50mm or 650bx2.0 inch? Isn't that the same width? Did you mean 2.1 with the 650b? Also is the clearance decent with 700x50 or is that super tight at the chain stays ? Looking to get this as an adventure bike
@NinerBikesOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Hi Bart, thank you for the message. The clearance for a 700x50 is within the industry standards of 6mm around the radius of the tire. However, please remember that each tire is different. Some knobbier tires may have less clearance as well as some manufacturers measure differently. However we did ensure that generally speaking a 700x50 fits in the frame with the necessary 6mm of clearance. We hope this helps. If you need additional information, please email tech@ninerbikes.com Thanks!

Just curious - the two SRAM AXS builds on the website say the front wheel has a 100x15 axle, while all the rest of the builds say 100x12. Is this intentional or an oversight?
@NinerBikesOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Hey Benjamin, thank you for the comment. Great catch! The website is a ton of work with even more information that goes into it. And we occasionally make mistakes like the one you caught. Great eye! The correct spec is 12x100 across the board. We will work with IT to get in fixed ASAP!

Reynolds 853 does not feel different than any other steel because the difference in elasticity of material (Young's Modulus is the technical term) between different steel alloys in negligible for this application. And the part where he talks about welding changing between "more rigid" and "stronger" is very questionable from technical standpoint mildly put. I really don't want to be a hater or shame anyone for not knowing something, but if someone is on camera stating technical details which are just wrong I feel like it's not the right way. Consulting an expert in preparation for a presentation or leaving out the technical details if you don't know something is way better.

Reynolds 853 frames have a great ride. And Reynolds can provide proof that the steel gets stronger at the joints when welded.
@harrie205 Жыл бұрын
You’re not getting how how higher grade steel frames work. With higher strength you could use thinner(smaller crosssectional area) tubing and a smaller cross section times the same Young’s modulus equals more elongation under riding stresses. Basically the frames become more compliant while specific modulus ist almost constant but specific strength stiffness increases(I’m neglecting the influence of geometry (tubing and frame) Higher strengths allows you to love the allowable stresses under riding further up and right on the strain elongation Diagramm without risking to exceed yield strength and plasticity deform the frame
@harrie205 Жыл бұрын
@@povertyspec9651mechanical(strength, elongation before breaking) properties decline at the welds. Welding is not a heat treatment and those claims from reynolds can be discarded as marketing bullshit(no one would put a weld on a critical area if it was avoidable with acceptable effort) Ps this is just a friendly information so you know better the next time and not a starter for a discussion. I’m an engineer and those are straight facts so no room for discussion. Have a nice day
