I remember first getting a DS for my birtday, it had this animal adoption game (not Nintendogs, though I had that later) and I never sold the dogs even though that was the whole point. I remember weird mini games to make the dogs more adoptable too, like jumping hurdles and popping bubbles. It was called Puppy Palace and Idk how I found it via Google search. There's just something about Nintendo handhelds that make them seem very friendly and easy to use. It doesn't look intimidating like the PSP as the design is more simple and sleek. It's a device for everyone and not just a targeted audience and that's why I love their company so much.

Kiwi Yeah, my friend had the same problem. Until at some point, the top screen completely fell off. She just shoved it back in its base and it was still functional, albeit with the colors occasionally being off. These systems could really take a hit.

I love my 2ds xl. It’s been really sad the last few years watching certain features go away. It’s been forever since they added new themes, Nikki doesn’t send swap doodles anymore, I don’t get gifts from Phyllis is acnl anymore, miiverse is gone, badge arcade just loops the same sets. For me that’s the saddest part of consoles being phased out. I’m sure someday they will shut down online services for it too.

The DSi was the first device I ever played on, before I even started playing my dad’s Xbox 360 when I was 5. Very nostalgic. Later, in 2013 I think, I got the 3DS XL, the red one. I still play both my 3ds and my old dsi to this day.

This video brings sooo many memories when I was a kid. In school on parties, a group of 7 would get together and play Mario Kart and have a blast. I’d take my DS XL EVERYWHERE. I’d also remember playing all tons of games with my friends on the Wii on every house. I have to admit, being a big tech nerd of Apple, Samsung, Google etc, Nintendo still has a soft spot in my heart and will always do. Now with my Switch, I can continue making a lot more fun memories with my friends. Hell, even my awesome and badass teacher owns a Switch and all of my friends try to beat him on Smash Bros.

An impressive feat of the 3DS was in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance looking as good as the early entries from the series on the PS2, especially in comparison to the two previous DS games which while visually impressive for DS games of the time still didn’t achieve visually what DDD managed.

Woah the DS was that durable? I recall sneaking my 3DS into school and while I was packing up to go home, my 3DS was sitting on the top of the locker so that when I was done, I could keep playing. Unfortunately things didn’t exactly work out in my favor and the 3DS fell from the top of the locker and shut off permanently. If I pressed the power button, it would just turn on and then shut back off. I had to get a new one.

Animal crossing made the original DS my favorite handheld. Now. I can’t wait for crossing on the lite. If anyone told me I’d have a handheld experience like the lite when I purchased my DS. I got myself a New 2DS this year, I'm 19 and never gave Nintendo a chance on the handheld market. What a foolish decision of mine: The console and all of its library is amazing! From the original 3DS games to the games available at Virtual Console, it's so much to play, so many quality titles, sometimes it's hard to decide what to play lol. As an example of this, I finally started playing most of the Ace Attorney games which I was always interested, and it's easily one of my favourites series from Capcom. The DS/3DS line is something worth looking at, and a video like this is the perfect explanation and tribute to it

So many memories , during some of the darkest times in my life , I remember having some of my most fond memories playing the DS as a kid in high school. i had a og pink ds that i had for afew years that i ended up holding together with rubber bands after the hinges broke. a year later i opened it abit to fast and it was completely dead after the top screen snapped off. after that i got my lovely red ds light but that pink one still holds a place in my heart

I own a 2ds that is dark blue. I love it and it really blends handheld and console gaming so well. Legit, Mario Maker 3DS, Mario Kart 7, and Super Mario 3D Land were almost like home console games on a smaller scale

I remember in 2010, it was Christmas morning and the first present I opened was the DSi XL. Then, i think in Christmas of 2013, I got a 3DS with Super Mario Bros. 2

Personally for me the 3ds really just was a more powerful ds. I almost never used the new features. The 3d gave me headaches so I only really used it once or twice. I lived in a small town so street pass was kind of a dead feature although I thought it was cool in concept. I actually recently bought myself a used 2ds on the cheap so I could play some 3ds games because my 3ds broke years ago. The brick design kinda sucks but it's comfortable enough to use.

I bought the switch lite yesterday and I gotta admit that I like the design of the 3ds a lot more. I like the two screens on the DS, I also can’t get over how everyone’s like “ oh yeah the switch lite is so light and you can easily bring it everywhere and it fits in your pockets . “That thing is huge, there’s no way that I can fit it in any of my pockets.

Pictochat should be standard on all smartphones. The OG DS was phenomenal with such things as that and the locsl wireless multiplayer! Playjmg tetris DS with like ten friends at a time was freaking insane back then and yet we have nothing coming close to it today for some reason...😥

In 3rd grade we had a day where we only used a DS lite/i for the different subjects. Everyone brought their own and those who didn’t have one just borrowed from those who had multiple. that was a good day

Mine was a Rose Metallic DS. I remember one time it fell off the couch and broke at the hinge. still worked just the top screen was white and you couldn't see shit. also the screen could lift off a little. so here's dumb shit kid me bumping around a pokemon center trying to play as if i were blind because i couldn't see shit. I got my red 3DS in 2012 for christmas. 12 year old me took way better care of it

I had a DS that was red metallic and black on the bottom and red on the inside. The bottom screen doesn’t work but I still have it for memories

When I got my first DS, it was a blue one, which I really liked, and the next day I left it on my table while we went to the shop. When I came back I noticed my picture had fallen off the top shelf, so I picked it up and put it back. Then I noticed my DS had a black mark on it. I wiped it off and wondered where it came from. When I opened my DS and turned it on, the top screen was cracked and half blank. My picture had somehow fallen on it and broken it. Lucky for me my mum spoils me and immediately bought me a new one. They only had silver left, which was a little disappointing because I really liked the blue, but I wasn't going to complain.

My first Handheld console was DSLite. It was very popular and child friendly. I remember having to cry all day and do my math homework so mom would bought it from me. Last week i bought nintendo switch lite (with my own money) because i want to play animal crossing. Watching this video bring all the memories and i kinda miss my mom too.

i have both a 2ds and new 2ds xl, and personally... i think the 'comfort' of the 2ds was incredibly overhyped for me personally... i guess for bigger hands it would be better, but mine are small

I grew up with the Atari 2600 then the original Gameboy. Didn't play for years until the DS release. Got hooked and bought each update. Now have a huge ds and 3ds collection. Some games remind me of my childhood like the virtual console. Its had an amazing life.

I was SUPER lucky as a kid to have a friend give me her old ds and some games when she got a newer one and wouldnt be surprised if it still worked it was a beast, my mom used it up until about 2013 then i gave her my old 3ds

I got my dsi XL christmas day of release year and I still use it everyday (with it working perfectly) besides that the game cards are INDESTRUCTIBLE, I was 7 when I got mine with some games and even all the games still work without breaking a sweat. Truly amazing
