I only ever had PS2/Gameboy/PSP/Wii when I was younger then I went almost 15 years playing zero video games. Found myself having more free time lately so just picked up the Switch 2 weeks ago even though it's 7 years old. Picked it over any other console since it seemed more non hardcore gamer friendly and the fact that it's hybrid and really glad I did. So many fun games to go through now that it's been out a while

Earliest I ever bought a Nintendo system. Okay, it was Summer 2018, 15 mins after launch, but I usually wait for a substantial quality of games I want to be available first - this just hit that real quick. Started with Mario + Rabbids, Mario Kart and Kirby Star Allies, and haven’t really looked back since. What a system.

Hard to believe it has been 7 years since this thing has come out. It is crazy how much has happened in my life since it dropped. I wish I played my Switch more than I have to be honest. By far my most played game on it is Sword and Shield. But hey I can still put more time into. I think it is hard to disagree for anyone who has played it that it is one of the greatest consoles of all time. Nostalgia for the Xbox 360 and PS2 has those ahead of the Switch for me, and I think I personally enjoy my PS4 more, but it is without a doubt the best Nintendo console I have ever played. My favorite Nintendo gaming machine still has to be the Gameboy Color/ Advance. Anyways it is crazy to see the cultural phenomenon the Switch became. I will never forget getting one at launch and play Mario Odyssey. What an experience. Great video as always man very insightful.

As much as I don't use my switch I still respect the console for what it does and how impressive it was for the time it came out. And in a way it kind of inspired stuff like the steam deck, my portable game system of choice (partially because I also use it as my main portable computer for main portable computer for college). Also I would like to take A moment to mention that console wars are stupid and the people trying to argue whether or not the steam deck is better than the switch are also stupid because both pieces of hardware serve two different segments of the market.

The switch proves that enough support it can be a success. If you told me 8-7 years ago I would be streaming games, having a hybrid home console, playing a main series Pokemom game from one device. I would look at you and giggle, rolling my eyes. Now I own more switch games than I know what to do with from my new favorite series. Bayonetta, Persona, Splatoon, Smash, Zelda, and even third party like My Hero Academia & can keep on going. The Bayonetta series what was a niche turn into a success. Bayo 1, a game that can run on any device dell laptop and surface pro can’t but my switch can. If that isn’t proof the power isn’t enough or Nintendo then nothing will. When the super switch come I will use the og one unless there an exclusive that need it.

I have no ill-intent in saying this: I like this video, but comparing 24fps movies to 30fps games is not accurate. Movies are don't have the interactivity that video games have. FPS discourse is usually about input delay of lower frame rate compared to higher frame rate. In case anyone wants to attack me: I still play 30fps and 60fps games. I just want to point out that 30fps in games and 24fps in movies are not the same.
