Problem is 90% of the people who buy this truck (or any truck like it) are NOT buying it for a work truck. Most are social status snobs who can get away with listing it as a work expenditure, but have no real purpose for it other than they just want to ride louder and prouder than everyone else, or make sure their kid is the most noticed in their high school. American consumerism at its greedy finest.

Well Sarah I bought an expensive truck, the 2018 Raptor fully loaded...and it's very high end inside. I wish I could get a truck like that for less, but just not the way the world works. After 35,000 miles and over 1,000 miles off road (most being at speed), I have no regrets..nicest truck I've ever owned.
@khondkerjamil394 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that new 9 speed transmission is a German transmission not Jatco. One thing I am iffy about the direct injection engine which will suffer carbon buildup at some point, I hope Nissan has a cure for that. I have owned three Nissan Maxima, last one was model year 1996, drove it 389,000 miles, minimum maintenance. Sold it to my latino friend, he's still driving it.

I have a 2019 Titan XD Cummins Platinum Reserve 4x4. The Titan XD lineup has a longer front end (to accommodate the 5.0L Cummins), longer (6 1/2’) bed and sits about 3” higher on a taller (stronger) frame designed for a higher payload and towing. 2019 was the last year for the Cummins engine in the XD lineup. They still offer the same 5.6L Gas (upgraded) as in the regular Titan but with a new 9-speed transmission.

Sarah I love your reviews! They are so fun, your personality rocks! Keep it up! FYI the Titan XD is their 3/4 ton version and the version that use to be available with the Cummins 5.0. You can spec an XD as an SL, as well. Believe it or not, the XD has larger brakes, bigger frame, longer engine compartment, larger bed, etc, etc. The XD Diesel has a GVWR of 8990 lbs. making it a true Class 2B truck. ...Wish they still offered the Cummins, but unfortunately they didn't sell enough to make the minimum manufacturing requirements for Cummins. So Vanilla Ice won't be roll'n in an XD 5.0 anymo ;( unless it's used , yo ! Enjoy your day!

@@dozer1642 nope, they kept the platform for the XD, which is the 5/8 ton version, but only with the modified 5.6 v8. The reason I say its modified is the fact you need premium to get the numbers mentioned. If you use regular gas, it'll drop the horsepower down to 395, the previous version of the v8's power. This version is the normal half ton, its just the front is still sharing components with the 5/8 ton. The main difference is height, weight and towing capacity between the two. With the regular Titan, its just under 10k, with the XD platform, its closer to 12k.

Pickups are cash cows, with huge profit margins, and some of the most successful marketing campaigns the world has ever seen. Few actually need one, fewer still desire one, yet they're the big 3's top selling vehicles. They have tiny legacy costs, as not much R&D was needed to go from Ox-Cart to Pickup Truck. The country cries and whines when gas goes over 3 bucks, yet these things sell so well that Ford doesn't need to sell cars anymore in the US. And yet, above all that, the Big 3 ratchet up the prices for their leather-clad dinosaurs every chance they get. Mind. Blown. Platinum Edition

My current Truck has 200K mi, it’s a 1999 Chevy Silverado Z71 LS, with a 5.3 V8 & a 4L60 with push button controlled 4wd and still all original, well everything .(🤷♂️it’s just well maintained) LS was a second from top trim and loaded for its day (leather was the only thing that would be on the next trim(LT Trim). It’s perfect as is for what I use it for. The occasional Dump runs, junkyard parts runs, winter snow trips to Tahoe/Reno, the occasional road trip sometimes with a car on a trailer, and the ubiquitous home improvement store runs. Can’t forget hauling a large dog that sheds a lot 🤦♂️. No screens but I can hook my phone to the aftermarket head unit and it’ll play via USB or Bluetooth my phone or iPad is my Navigation screen and it just works. Contrast my Daily is a luxury sports sedan nothing new but, at least it was built this century and just over a decade ago. I hate the factory infotainment system in it, what’s in my truck and my other even older car (also aftermarket stereo) again just works, and so much better than what’s in some newer cars🙄 Odds are keeping the truck for another 100K mi upgrading the daily for a 2021/2022 TLX or something similar. I would rather have a new/Newer luxury car than an $80K truck that I’d end up being to precious with, which would defeat the purpose of having a truck in the first place.

I've said it many a time and people pretend I'm crazy but trucks are the modern day luxury cars. The average half-ton pickup's capabilities exceeded the real world need of the vast majority of it's buyers at least twenty years ago. But by then manufacturers realized that if they made them quieter and more luxurious people would gladly sell an organ to have one. In a world where grown men secretly desire extra cup holders more than high payload capacity and value is judged not by quality for the dollar but by volume of product for the dough, trucks offer more than enough or everything.

To answer the question trucks should absolutely not be luxury vehicles. The most luxury they should have is maybe AC. I don't want a bunch of gadgets in my truck while I'm hauling hay. I don't care how comfy the ride is while towing a horse trailer. I want it to just do work. Which is why I like my 95 F350 Powerstroke 7.3. The thing just fires up and does what it needs to do. A truck is not a comfy rolling smartphone. That's just my two cents though for whatever its worth. Thanks for the awesome reviews/videos/channel!

I'm on the fence with the whole utilitarian vs luxury truck thing. On one hand...it's a truck, you gotta be able to haul shtuff and not be worried about banging it up. But at the same time, after a long day of hauling shtuff you wanna be comfortable at the end of the day when you're heading home.
