"To the hilt" is a reference to the use of daggers and swords. It means that you've stabbed someone as deep as you can, using the whole blade up to the hilt. Modern use simply means that sometime is done as much as it can be. Loaded to the hilt would mean loaded up with everything you can.

I bought a 2019 Ranger XLT this pass September. I also have an ‘02 Ranger with the 3.0 L V6. Do not let the 4 cylinder 2.3L fool you. The mating of motor and transmission will haul some serious ass. The Lariat was not worth the added expense to me. I got the truck I wanted in a price range that got me bang for buck. It was a retirement gift to myself, 40 years in Paper making. Love my Rangers. Great review, Sarah. This is a seriously cool truck! BTW...Ford Performance just announced that they're making some accessories available for the Ranger. They include. off-road wheels, tires and suspension, a tune that adds 40 HP and 60 LB FT of torque and a cat-back exhaust. All of the things you mentioned are coming to fruition. You're so darn smart! It's always nice to see that you bring your penguin friends along for the ride. I can't imagine one of your car reviews without them. Keep up the great work. Love your channel.

Loved my 2011 Ranger V-6 and now have the 2019 Ranger since new. Neither saw the dealer after purchase - run like champs with no issues. I really wanted the F150 but it was too big and did not fit my driveway. The Ranger has fantastic gas milage and its quick like you said. I have the Lariat and picked this truck due to style, performance and overall very good experience with Ford. Only complaint was the truck was expensive and stupid named tires. I really love your channel but your scores seem kinda harsh.

I’m dating myself, but there was a time when pick-ups were much more affordable than passenger cars, although the list of available options was short. Back then, you mostly bought a pickup because you really needed one for work, towing, or country living. Somewhere along the line, pickups became trendy to own (especially 4x4’s) driving up the market and with the standard and available options, prices got out of hand. There is no way a Ford Ranger is worth anywhere near $50k... $35k would be a stretch. I admit, this Ranger is nice but I wouldn’t pay that price even if money didn’t matter.

The phrase "to the hilt" comes from Roman times, when a person was executed they were made to kneel then a sword thrust was made from the base of the skull through the neck. Severing the skull from the spinal cord, slicing the jugular veins from the inside so that the person's lungs fill with blood. The sword was pushed all the way to the hilt. It was considered a humane way to kill. So every time you say that phrase you have ordered someone's death, fairies have died and an angel loses its wings. The truck review video was great also.

Ford Key Pad entry. I love it and use the key pad all the time on my 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. Really nice to go grab things out of the car without having the key or fob on me. It's nice to see the Ranger back; I'm not a fan of small ecoboost turbo engines. The new Ranger is way too expensive compared to the previous generation; you can buy larger trucks for similar pricing. For a $50K truck they oddly used the old school key pad instead of the capacitive touch ones in the door pillar like other Ford and Lincoln models. A regular engine choice would be nice. My daily from 2001 to 2010 was a 1998 Ranger XLT Extended Cab with the 3.0L V6....awesome little truck and took us on a lot of camping trips. I put 175,000 trouble free miles on it. My Ranger was white and the paint still looked new to the end keeping in mind this was before Ford came up with their "peel"-formance white paint. When I sold it, it held its value. I paid $12K and sold it for $4K....great little truck.

That lil Ranger got me through several PCSs (McChord, Osan, Fairchild, and Luke). I know there have been a ton of techy improvements since 1994, but I have a hard time justifying a $47K Ranger. Maybe a diesel Raptor. But that's a big maybe. We got our 2019 F250 4x4 (horse hauler)for a bit more than the Ranger in your video. Higher prices seems to be the norm and I'm an old fart.
