We are kinda insufferable but I can see how we got that way. To be honest our life sounds sort of miserable if you really think about it. Not allowed to go anywhere, no one likes us, we have no friends, brother dies, responsibility of an entire country get placed on our shoulders as a child without having a say about it, lost our best friend/ first love because of dumb rumours, not being able to trust or talk to anyone, not being able to show our feelings because it would have been used against us. The immense amount of pressure to succeed and perfectionism pushed on us since forever. Like is anyone surprised this person has a raging superiority inferiority complex, zero social skills, and absolutely no idea about the world they were never allowed to see? Also what was that in the beginning? Does our mom mean we (used to) go to therapy and need to go again.

If I read a book about Earis and Zaros I would have kms because the slow burn is slow burning so slow. Every second they talk it is just this constant voice in my head saying „just kiss already“. That does not mean I don’t like it. I LOVE it, I think the feeling of „just kiss already“ has to be a MUST for the slow burn trope, in books and in this story.

I do love how nervous I get every time I see this series has an update because I never know what will come up! Now to my pov: I know the listener's mother loves them in some capacity but it does look to me that she never stopped thinking what if the fist born child was still there and I think the worst kind of feeling is that it is quite transparent and knowing that you are the second option, the trials and having to hold back your personality because is not deemed "worthy enough" to an heir to conduct themselves that way is a lot for one person. I love Zaros interactions (even if i do want to fight him sometimes 😂 ) because he is the only one who's trying to understand what the listener's thoughts are without malice intentions. Cross our finger for a happy ending for them ❤

•The Queen talking about how her Father taught her that rulers can bend boundaries and rules made my skin crawl 31:36 From bits of information sprinkled in about their Grandad in past Eps , how "merciless" and foolish he was , i'm not vibing with his wisdom being passed down 💀 •The bit about sabotaging Zaros made me laugh , like hello this is not brunch we're discussing its treason??? It perfectly captures how separated the Royal family is from reality, even if it was simple curiosity. •I can see both mothers treading/ HAVE tread the line of encouraging-but-lowkey-manipulative-yet-not in a way so many parents can be without realising. The pressure they put on their kids is needed in some ways but will crush them if it becomes too much. It'll be interesting to see how the Trials affect their treatment towards Zaros and Earis • Zaros and Earis are cute as hell I can't lie. When they want to, they can be very intimate in their own weird way. I'd love to have seen their relationship in full swing . Would they have made each other better or worse back then ? Who knows Every line in this series is gold , actually insane. The voice acting is so good I keep coming back to notice new ways to interpret dialogue. Stephanie is absolutely killing this role , I have no idea what the Queen could be playing at (and if she's being sneaky it'll actually break my heart because I adore this character) It's all incredible ❤

I feel bad for the listener because of all they’ve been through. No social life or anyone to trust nothing to mention the feeling of always wanting to be first. Their mother picked them second and so did everyone because they NOW needed him. Wanting to be first because it’s the only way of getting noticed treat as if they matter. And on top of that they’re somewhat harshly criticized for not being able to communicate well or be human even though that’s not their fault. I know the listener isn’t the older sibling but I am and I feel for them. Older sibling get all the attention and high expectations to meet so I can only imagine those getting pasted simply because your right there. Zaros and Earis’ relationship is developing slowly but gradually, they joke with each other more casually and freely, unlike when we first met them at the gala. I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH ITS CONCERNING Zaros is by far my favorite character and his story is in my opinion the best, and the listener character is so interesting. Like at first I was like "Oh they're gonna be a prick" and now I'm like "OH they're a prick with mommy issues" and I love that. Relisten and Plot Theory time 🤩 Trial Results: - Knowledge: Earis (confirmed) - Debate: Zaros. Like it or not, he truly cares about the people. He has the character of a ruler who listens to the people, he cares for the people, and he applies his knowledge quick. With whatever question of the continent(?), he first thinks of its people. He thinks about their well-being. Earis is more logical and factual, they care more about the logistics and connections of the continent. They think of failsafes while Zaros thinks of the now. Both have its good and bad, but the judges will most definitely favour Zaros' thinking. - Combat: Tie or one is not able to compete. As Zaros said, Earis is more talented in combat but they're on almost equal footing. But why do i say it'll be a tie/one not being able to compete? That is my first theory. Theory (1): Earis will get injured before the combat trial. As they say, they are tenacious, and we as the audience see that. Earis' attitude of "I know what I want, and i will get it when and however i want it" will be their ultimate flaw. If and WHEN Zaros wins the debate trial, Earis will be over-training because they want to beat him, they want to win. With over-training comes exhaustion, and when you're exhausted and fatigue, you're more likely prone to injuries and even collapsation. So, in the end, my theory is that Earis will have a medical emergency during the trial and the final trial result is either declared a tie, someone steps out (if we're going for an Enemies to Lovers route: Zaros will) or judges will reference results from before, especially the debate trial. Theory 2: Since Earis knows about the Knowledge Trial Results, they will accidentally spill it. When and where? Best case scenario, In an argument with Zaros. Worse cast scenario, during the debate, in front of the panel. The best action i think the Earis should take is to tell Zaros before the debate trial because telling them will mean that they treat Zaros as an equal, that knowing the result won't change their efforts in beating them. Furthermore, Zaros already distrusts Earis' mother, and if Earis kept it to themselves, Zaros will not only distrust the mother even more, but the Earis as well.

I want to add in that I relate to our character SO SO MUCH. Having to look and be perfect, to keeping up the appearance of stoicism and needing to win any and all battles. GOSH. The tenacity this character has is the same one I had when I was 15. I didn't stop at anything until I got what I wanted.

i think theory 1 will happen as well - the earis’s mother, although she disguises her tone as gentle, you can tell she wants her child to win by all means necessary. like if they don’t win, they’ll be seen as inferior which feeds on the whole superiority complex that MC has been known to have. the earis doesn’t want to let their mother or their family down, so training as much as they can compensate for that feeling …until they get worn out of course and end up being unable to contend the trial

i sincerely hope this ends with them ruling together, because they both complete the other, zaros is much more equipped with social affairs in the kingdom, and understands the population and its people much more than earis, but lacks in combat and knowledge on affairs with other nations and how to handle physical large scale confrontation earis on the other hand, excels in battle and political affairs, and their quick thinking and battle skill is perfect for a ruler when in times of war, but they are completely out of their depth when it comes to the people of their nation, they don’t see perspective and think of themselves and what’s best for the kingdom economically and conservatively. NOW CONSIDER THEM RULING TOGETHER, zaros could handle more social/‘in the kingdom’ issues, and would generally be a more well liked ruler, while earis can handle the war/outside politics, and BAM ultimate power couple created.

​@ophelia2675 well in this case only Zaros can die. Saku stated many times that if "the listener" dies then "we" die. Or vise versa. So the listener dying will never happen.

I also think like you Zaros seem more capable of problems in the country and related to people. On the other hand, Erias is great at fighting, and can have the ability to protect the country from enemies. They indeed should rule the country together. BUT Why @ophelia2675 said one of them will die? Are there spoilers? 😭
