I like how Cartman doesn't want to take care of himself, yet he throws on a suit and tie and spends a majority of his time managing a real estate company. Though I think he mainly did this to get his mom's attention. lol this show is awesome.

Speaking as someone who is from a small Colorado town, just in the last ~10-15 years the expansion and growth has been ridiculous. Many smaller towns I know have had their populations double, and the effects on the locals because of property prices, taxes, etc, is shameful. Most people are ~not to happy~ with real estate agents.

I'm from a small town in Colorado too, it is insane how fast it is expanding. My parents bought their house for about $180,000 now its worth about $600,00. My cousins live in the Keystone/A Basin area and their home is almost 2 mil now. I had to move back in with my parents at the start of the pandemic when my work closed down because I couldn't afford my $1000/month rent.

This is what is happening here in rural Canada. With the pandemic people quit the cities to work at home and buy houses in the villages around. The trend is so high the 200k houses were bought 400k and apartments went from 700$ a month to 1300$ in less than 2 years. As city people have higher pay, they raise the value of lodging with the effect on the village inhabitants to have trouble finding apartments or houses with prices in relation with the regional salaries. Now that the pandemic is on its way out, they try to sell back their homes with insane profit with the then 200k house now for sale for 500k.

Same thing has happened here in Canada, i was lucky enough to get into the market in 2018 and now my home is worth 600k when i paid 254k 4 years ago, which would be great if buying into the market was just as bad and i need somewhere to live. Rent has jumped from humble 800-900 a month to over 2k which has made it very hard on anyone renting in a small town with under 5k population =/

@tconlon251 I'm starting to wonder perhaps that Matt and Trey made this episode due to the people who held sympathy for Cartman's fate at the end of Return of Covid? I mean sure it was sad because in that special we saw that Cartman had changed for the better in the bad timeline, only for that to be ripped away from him in the good timeline. I think if anything Matt and Trey are saying "Yeah it was sad, but he brought it on himself". Makes me wonder if perhaps in the bad timeline, Cartman didn't try to sabotage his mother's job.

Just sold my house in Minnesota (small town) for 250,000. Now keep in mind this place is MASSIVE. I forgot the sqaure footage but 3 floors, 3 full bathrooms, recroom, 2 basements (one below the 2 car garage, one the kitchen) 8 rooms, dining room, kitchen recently expanded (so its massive) living room all separate. On 10 aches in the country so its peaceful. Good school less than 3 miles away. An I felt like I was over charging cause it needed some work but otherwise was in solid condition. I didn't want to live there cause I am a single guy. It was to much for one person. Family was moving from Seattle. They were almost floored with I told them the price. But in a "really? its that low?" kinda of way. Keep in mind I didn't need the money and I don't mind helping out a family. (They had 4 kids and were looking to buy their first home) But the more I look at the situation they got a massive steal given the way the housing market is going. I get it but it also boggles my mind when I hear what houses are worth in city areas. most houses around here are not that huge but only go for 150k. So people are absolutely moving to rural areas looking to buy "cheap" housing.

50 years ago where I live there used to be nothing but houses and empty land. Now small businesses are getting sent packing just so more condo's, apartments, and retirement homes can be built. The thing that sucks is they aren't even going to redo the roads to handle the extra traffic that this will create. It's a 5 minute drive to town hall though so that's a plus ;)

Well, there's a saying for this current migrations, which is, essentially, "Don't bring California with you to (insert red state here, usually Texas)". The idea that you're leaving your crowded city area and moving cross-country because either: A. Your politics don't align with that area (ie you vote red or yellow and it's a blue area). B. You're leaving because it's too expensive and/or the crime is too bad to live there (which would be, as far as the moderates and right wingers are concerned, are a direct result of the blue supermajority's policies in that area). In any case, you moved out of the crowded blue area to live in the open red area, so please assimilate into "our" (their) culture, rather than trying to make "us" (them) assimilate into your culture. Which is the main worry of city people moving to Texas, Tennessee, etc etc atm - that the people escaping what they consider unlivable conditions will accidentally make the country folks' lives hell too by voting for the same stuff they did back in the city. Let the country people live in peace and you'll get along just fine. There's a political and cultural argument there with a lot of layers that I don't really want to get into, but that's the gist of the Right-Wing & Centrist attitudes towards the city people's migrations these past few years. It's not just about property values going up (though that is an issue as well).
@100nitrog22 жыл бұрын
Basically, those people want to feel like anybody actually cares about anything more than the cost of living. Nobody goes to Texas because of their amazing policies. People move to Texas because property is cheap and jobs are plentiful. Businesses are moving there because that's where the spillover from saturated markets is going.

Real estate people aren't bad people, fair enough, only if you agree that drug dealers, thieves, muggers, looters, mercenaries aren't bad people cause they're "just need to earn money". No seriously, ask ones you know how much they pay in taxes with each house sales. Bet you they think they don't have to with commissions. Their actions cause inflation, economic crashes and they get rich off transferring other people's labor.

I don't consider realtors to be in the same vein as criminals. They're more like travel agents: at one point, they served a purpose, but that purpose no longer exists.
