In Game of Thrones the words "The North Remembers" are meaningless, the North turned their back when Sansa Stark needed help. In ASoIaF, however, the northmen remembers their vows and want to rescue "Arya" from the Boltons even if that will get them killed. That's GRRM saying: "If you're noble, you may die early, but your legacy will remain", in the show they call Ned and Robb "dumb". Fuck D&D.

@@youshallnotpass2156 accepting Renly's offer wasn't an option as STANNIS IS RIGHTFUL KING, not Renly. @youshallnotpass21564 жыл бұрын
@@pawemarsza9515 well in the books renly in that dialogue never talked abiut himself becoming king he just wanted to do that as he saw themselves in danger if ned wanted to become protector And as for the show he could have still argued with renly about that problem or at least propose to first settle the problem with the lannisters and then concern themselves about the line of succession

WHY. WASN'T. THIS. IN. SEASON. SIX???
@LabTech417 жыл бұрын
That statement could've been made about so very many things in Season 6. Long story short: having this scene probably would've necessitated another episode, and who knows how many additional cast members as well as sets and CGI for White Harbor; none of which is possible given the structure the series has established. And also, let's be frank; since the show writers haven't really had much in the way of source material to construct this last season, the quality's gone way down. These people clearly aren't up to GRRM levels.
@sebastianwillows7 жыл бұрын
LabTech they could have added it to the scene with Jon being chosen as kingindanorf
@LabTech417 жыл бұрын
sebastianwillows No, because at that point it would've been entirely out of context and unnecessary. I mean, with some good writers and a serious reframing, you could have the guy who played Manderly give a speech in which he said the basic spirit of this conversation, without necessarily saying the same thing, which wouldn't make much sense in a vacuum. Still, even then, given that the 'kingindanorf' scene is the first time we've seen Manderly, the show people probably would've been befuddled as to who this fat fuck is who's giving a speech, when it's the little Lady Mormont who's stealing that scene.
@Guard6557 жыл бұрын
Cutting out the shit that is Dorne, some poor Arya scenes and some more shit (and more shit there is) would have given time to create a better storyline for the north and Davos could have traveled and spoken to Manderly over a 3 episode span with like 5 minutes each. Then Manderly and other northern houses could have come to Jon's aid in the last second and the north would actually have done something. (instead of the vale and littlefinger)

Tbf, the warning signs where there for the downward spiral of the show. Robert Arryn being called Robin because they couldn't imagine people keeping up with folk having the same name (despite the fact he was named for Robert Baratheon). Asha becoming Yara because Asha and Osha are similar and peoples heads wouldn't be able to wrap around that. Carl fookin Tanner. Jeyne Westerling gone thus robbing us of the back story that Tywin approved of the marriage and was working with her House to bring Robb down. So many subtle dumbing down moments that most folk let it slip until it was too late.

Eh there would be pretty major hurdles in delivering info like what you mentioned with the Westerlings organically and subtly enough to avoid basically spoiling the audience on the red wedding. Also we both know that people generally assume that (the majority) TV audiences get bored easy and aren't that attentive, and while they can get over the deaths of their fan-favorite (if done in a satisfying manner) they can't tolerate them being off screen for more than one or two episodes.

The music is added by the uploader, I listened to all the audiobooks and there was never a backing track. Can't tell you what the second song is, it sounds like one of the dramatic scores from the TV series but can't pinpoint it I'm afraid.

They're both music from the show. First one is "Winterfell" from season 2, second is "I Have to Go North" from season 3.

D&D were more interested in shitty fanfiction than actually following the plot.
