In this video, I will cover a very brief history of Chillwave, its influences, its legacy, and why this genre has been vindicated by history.

Lol. She has a lot of interview vids where you see her face. This channel and her older SoulSearchandDestroy channel have been a really neat part of youtube for years. I have listened to her mixes for at least 6 years and some I listen to over and over in the car when driving simply for the nostalgia. Can't wait for what the future holds for these channels!

My formative years were the 80s and 90s. Chillwave, to me, is false nostalgia (mixed with a little truth) and some wishful fantasy of living in those days. We take our childhood memories and turn up the intensity and emotion by +10, and you have this music genre. And I am absolutely addicted.

Wait... Soul is a human and not a talking bulbasaur? One thing I love about Hello, Meteor is many of its records are set in a alternate timeline where the space race started during the 19th century. As a steampunk fan, it's a wonderful idea (except in that timeline, people had to colonize other planets because the participating countries in the Great War used nuclear weapons as conventional weapons, making Earth a wasteland).

Actually, I am really an Ivysaur… this is just my human suit I put on. 🙃 I think Hello Meteor is just right for this timeline! I think museums, gardens, and public places should put their albums on full blast.

There is a song in the L O N G N I G H T S mix that Aesthenic uploaded many years ago called Looking Back Once More by L.D.C.N. Was one of my favorite ambient tunes, but I never could find anything else by that creator.

Hearing you name off and then me knowing every one of those producers you listed after 6:29 was one of the most rewarding feelings I've had in months. I don't know a single other person in real life who likes this genre as much as I do. God knows I've tried to get people interested.

Oh yeah! I'd love to see this for synth and vapor. Especially going into more depth. I got into this stuff during the lockdowns. It's so overwhelming, I'm 100% that noob guy from the meme.
