Also fun fact about Sarila/Frozen land, it was the first 3d animated movie to be made in Canada and was supposed to be a love letter to Inuit culture and folklore, with its depiction of the sea goddess Sedna. The people who made it clearly cared about their work (even though it was boring) but they were screwed over by their distributors.

And for some reason it's been living in my head rent-free ever since. I think it was the fact that the witch taught the girl magic, which was pretty unique as far as fairy tales go, and then the girl defeated her by clever use of that magic. And recently I've been trying to hunt down all these random things I saw as a kid that have been floating around in my head for years. But I couldn't remember what this one was called, and no combination of Google search terms was of any help. Who would've thought that months later I'd randomly discover and decide to start watching Search for the Worst, and the second video I'd decide to watch would end up unlocking the mystery. Wild. 26:14 I think the reason why the movie plays fine straight off the DVD is because for most software that plays DVDs, they are automatically deinterlaced during playback. But deinterlacing isn't turned on when playing back conventional formats like MP4 or WMV. The tearing could be fixed by deinterlacing it with software like Handbrake. Fun story: My dad is mates with a guy who used to work at a cinema and when my sister and I were like 7 years old my dad would bring home a USB stick of illegally acquired kids movies that he got from his mate. Most of these were basic ones like Frozen, Brave etc. But there was one on there that was listed as Freedom Force. My sister and I had no idea what it was but we decided to watch it. We were both so baffled even at this young age at how terrible the film was and how absolutely nothing made sense and we both agreed it was one of the worst films we’d ever seen, we turned it off after 30 minutes. I cannot tell you the horrific flashbacks I got from my childhood after seeing footage from Freedom Force (Fantastic 4orce) again all these years later.
